3 out of 5 eggsLow-end Printer for Average Prices.

Pros: + Very affordable when on sale.

+ Adequate printing and scanning for the price. Nothing great or a great bargain. Average at best. Perfect for text or disposable prints. Not for quality.

+ For me, the greatest feature of this printer is ease of use and setup for wireless printing. You can print on your network with ease and the printer doesn't need to be on before sending your job to it. Setup is easy and fairly robust with mobile printing made easier than other brands. I honestly, don't know why some have issues with it.

Cons: - Slow printing especially considering the average to below average quality.

- Poor picture production in printing.

- Scanning is also on the slow side.

- Build quality feels rather cheap and flimsy.

- Massive bloatware with HP drivers these days, which you need if you want wireless setup. You can avoid most of it, but it's still very annoying. Their monthly cartridge plan is a waste. It goes by pages printed, not quantities of ink.

Other Thoughts: This is a great BARGAIN wireless printer. If you can get it for a great price and basically only want to print text, labels, or loose reference photos that don't rely on color reproduction, this is a decent economy solution.

If you expect a printer or scanner to do anything well at these prices, look elsewhere.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat printer at this price range

Pros: Extremely easy setup on our home network with wireless printing and scanning. Had no problems adding it to a few different computers. Has a nice design and is smaller than I thought it would be. Also can't beat the price for an all-in-one.

Cons: Prints a little bit slower than other HP printers I have had in the past. Also doesn't have any ports built in for memory cards or USB drives.

Other Thoughts: Great product, everything can be done over wi-fi. Very convenient

5 out of 5 eggsMy HP Envy 4500

Pros: Easy and fast set up. Great copies, scanning is so simple.

Cons: Did not have the USB cable for the computer, but being wireless not much need for it and if you are getting a new printer these days chances are you already have one.

Other Thoughts: The printer came to me faster than I thought 4 business days. I have no complaints and would suggest this product to anyone.

1 out of 5 eggsWireless Does Not Work

Pros: Prints out lovely system status and diagnostic pages. I've had to print a lot of them trying to debug this printer.

Cons: Wireless connectivity does not work. This printer has a problem correctly handing wifi passphrases, and this appears to be a fairly widespread problem HP is choosing to ignore: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Networking-and-Wireless/Printer-rejects-WPA-Passphrase/m-p/4923585/highlight/false#M91672

Other Thoughts: Placing the printer alignment sheet on the scanning bed to perform alignment was a pretty nifty feature. Too bad it's the only positive experience I've had with this printer

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Linux Support and 2400 DPI 8.5x11" Scanning

Pros: I will admit that the main reason that I purchased this printer was due to the scanner contained within this unit. It's capable of scanning at 1200 DPI (2400 DPI software-enhanced) which makes this exceptionally vital for high quality scanning of documents. I simply opened Simple Scan, adjusted preferences to 1200 DPI, hit scan and within a minute or two it had scanned a document in such high quality that you can't tell the difference between the original and the scanned version after printing the scanned document.

It also works amazingly well with Linux and the GNOME Desktop Environment, which automatically added/configured the printer as soon as I plugged it in without needing to install any additional drivers. That's one of the things that I love about Linux in regards to printers: plug it in and it just works -- especially HP printers. Toss out that driver CD into the trash if you're using Linux because it's not needed.

Cons: The only thing I dislike about the unit is that it's not a CISS printer and it requires the usage of tri-color ink cartridges. CISS printers are far more economical than either laser or cartridge inkjets as they feature ink tanks on the side that can be refilled with ink bottles without needing to open the printer up to replace a costly cartridge which adds electronic waste to the environment. As a result, I'll give it 4 stars instead of 5. It's great, but it's not perfect.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat so far

Pros: I bought this for my grandma for Christmas and she really likes it. She's technology illiterate, so it speaks volumes that she has little trouble making copies on this, as well as using more advanced features, like blowing up an image, for example.

Cons: It felt pretty cheap as I installed it, and I kind of suspect it will die within a year, but we'll wait and see.

5 out of 5 eggsBang for your buck!

Pros: Bought this based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews and I have not been disappointed. Easy to setup, aesthetically-pleasing design, and incredible value. There are a lot of inferior printers out there (many of which cost far more), but you won't regret purchasing this one!

Cons: None, whatsoever.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good print quality......WHEN it prints......

Cons: Can't get it to print certain web pages with info I need.

Other Thoughts: Maybe my printer has a problem, but I set it all up... ran HP software and printed some stuff. After 30 days.... I can't get anything to print? It says the printer has an error? I went through and re-did all the connections... passwords... start from scratch. No good. I will get a different brand from now on. Not happy.
