4 out of 5 eggsQuick printers

Pros: For a quick replacement printer, these are great. Fast and supportive of a lot of OS's and different types of consumables; card stock, envelopes, etc. placed on draft mode ink will last longer

Cons: Ink will run out quick if not conservative with the settings. Defaulted sleep mode is annoying till disabled in settings and it's also too deep within the configuration pages

Other Thoughts: like most HP deskjet printers they will go off market too soon, and unavailable if you have multiple users as I do that need them. I had to purchase 10, as it looks like these may soon go discontinued.

1 out of 5 eggsNot too good

Pros: cheap, light, small.. and uses Tri-color cartridge

Cons: would not pick up paper at all. Had to refund first day.

Other Thoughts: Had high hopes for small light duty desktop printers in our organization

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap and Decent enough quality for most things.

Cons: Powers itself off after a while and you have to press the power button for it to start printing again.

Other Thoughts: After plugging the printer in, i directed windows to search the included CD for drivers to avoid installing HP programs, windows found and installed successfully.

Ink is $13-18 a cartridge at most places, or $35-40 for a pack that has both cartridges.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it says

Pros: I was looking for printer that just printed. No extra frills. So far this has been working great.

Cons: none so far.

1 out of 5 eggsPiece of junk

Pros: It's cheap.

Cons: Again, it's cheap. I purchased two of these for low-print-volume users, and both were non-functional within two months. One no longer powered on after two weeks, the other one's roller gave out before the third ink cartridge. Unfortunately, this model exemplifies the shoddy stereotype of these cheap HP printers.

Other Thoughts: Just pony up and spend $100 on one of their Laserjets. It will save you many, many headaches.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes what it Does

Pros: Prints. Not too fast, but not too slow either.

Cons: Installing the driver is a bit of a hassle. It's not plug and play compatible on Macs (my roommate has one), and so you have to use the CD. For Windows, Windows 7 plug and play works, but for Windows 8, install the driver from CD, then add the printer, then uninstall the driver, then install the printer with plug and play.

Other Thoughts: Honestly I got it for $30 and past the whole installing-drivers issue, it's fine.
