5 out of 5 eggsGood all purpose label printer

Pros: Fast printing, reliable, great feature set.

Cons: Expensive, make sure you actually need a printer with these capabilities.

Other Thoughts: There are many settings that must be tweaked in order to get it printing just the way you want it. I had to tweak the "Enabled Form Backup" and "Top of form Backup" in order to get it to print correctly. Keep in mind there are three locations where you can tweak the settings. 1) The Zebra Setup Page 2) The Printer Properties Page and 3) The Printing Preferences Page.

2 out of 5 eggsGood Product, Below Average Support

Pros: Print Quality 5/5
Stock Prices 5/5
Stock Availability 5/5
Refilling 5/5

Prints well, high quality labels with few errors. Printing quality is excellent. Paper and ribbon stocks for this printer are widely available at competitive prices. Replacing ribbon (for thermal transfer) and labels (for tt & direct printing) are very simple, easy for all staff to pick up quickly.

Cons: Repair costs 0/5
Reliability 2/5
Programability 2/5
Tech Support 0/5

Zebra's technical support is very, very poor, for such a complicated product. They are state-side support (Florida when I asked) but they never solve the problem, just blame your software, not the hardware.

We had a problem that the printer is constantly reversing at the end of the label instead of printing continuously, which reduces the speed of printing at least by 40%. Which when you are printing up to 2k labels some days is a HUGE problem. After a number of calls to tech support I was informed that my printer "didn't have the feature" to turn this ON! so they could not turn it off.

If this printer breaks on you? Be expecting to shell out $190 if you are out of warranty. Zebra just charges you cost and sends you a refurbished unit. Huge ripoff. We had 2 for 14 months and then one kicked the bucket. We purchased a new one and are claiming the old one through our credit card protection.

Other Thoughts: We had no choice in choosing this printer, it was the only one that met our specs and was compatible with our companies software. Research before you buy, and be prepared with a backup if something goes wrong. We use this in a retail setting so we had to overnight a new printer when the first one broke.

Buy the extended warranty from Newegg or direct from Zebra. Its worth it in critical applications.

I have heard this prints USPS labels (confirmed) and UPS (UPS's website does not mention this model specifically) which we don't use yet but is useful if true.
