1 out of 5 eggs DO NOT BUY, HORRIBLE COMPANY!!! Headaches. Be prepared for some issues and waiting for customer service to respond to your complaints.

Pros: Price is definitely a pro. I was going to buy this for $499 but my computer messed up and ended up buying this after midnight and got this for $449 and the next day it went back up. No settings to mess up, cartridges control temperatures and software is limiting in options. Other reviews state they jerk you around until 60 days so they don't have to pay shipping to return. The person I spoke to was helpful but unable to recommend non-scripted tricks i.e. warping and sticking failures to the bed solutions.

Cons: Expensive cartridge proprietary filament therefore limited colors
Limited settings.
I've had this for 2 weeks and had several problems; 1st: software wouldn't send print to printer, 2nd: could not keep prints on the print bed using "approved" techniques therefore warping or the opposite extruder pulling the print off the bed (solution-kapton tape and dissolve failed prints in acetone and apply to tape), 3rd: one extruder has a filament "jam" to apart cleaned several times and cleaned and loading the filament fine, go to print and starts print and "jam" yet its not jamming, 4th: the connectors to extruders loss contact and fail to heat leading to a extruder failure, 5th: print splits about 1 inch away from bed, separation of layers.

-Update machine broke for the second time, first the heater broke, second the main board failed. Had to wait for customer support for 6 days to tell me they will ship me a new board and tech support would provide the tracking number. I inquired about the tracking number a week later and tech support requested I send them the board to test first, a week later I asked for an update and I'm being ignored.

Other Thoughts: Regretting my purchase. Wish I could return this.

1 out of 5 eggsComplete junk

Pros: Could be used as a boat anchor

Cons: Worked long enough to print one of the sample objects. Now its been over 2 months trying to get their customer service to help. Major issue is the bed will not calibrate. After a month of trying to contact them I finally get a response from a very polite Asian lady with an accent that makes her completely useless as tech support. Now having been strung along for 30 plus days trying to work with them, I exceeded Neweggs return policy for this item. Shame on me for thinking things would be made right. Finally got a call from a guy named Charles at XYZ (we are now in week 7 of ownership and 13 call attempts to reach tech support). Charles was helpful, and gave me a list of things to try to do to resolve my issue, and told me to try everything on the list and contact him if there was still an issue. Tried everything twice. Not resolved. Again went into the email and phone attempting to contact Charles again......... no luck. No response to EMAIL and when I do reach their tech support the polite Asian lady sets up a time for Charles to call me but the phone call never comes. This has happened three times now. I have given up all hope of XYZ making this right, and I guess my only recourse is to attempt some type of legal action against them. By the way if you think this is sour grapes...... it is, but I have all the EMAIL correspondence and phone records to back up this info.

Other Thoughts: I know lots of people have had great experiences with these printers, and that's great, but if you happen to get one with a problem, youre pretty much done for. I recommend you spend a bit more money any buy something that has adequate tech support to help in case of problems

4 out of 5 eggsFairly easy to use, For a decent start

Pros: A good price and lard print base.

Minimal set up and maintenance.

Good to learn the basics of printing

Cons: Software leaves much to be desired.

Not the greatest customer support

Other Thoughts: I am very new to 3d printing and thought it was a plug and play affair. This printer definately taught me outherwise. I went from most prints failing and slowly learning the ropes on this machine.

Now having worked on my friends maker bot I know that this machines software leaves much to be desired.

However I will say if your just starting out this isn't a have bad start. Im pretty happy with it and am slowly paying off the cost of the printer which I have afffectionatly named Zhu Li because she does the thing.

However as stated it does leave much to desire now that Im becoming more and more adept printing and maintaining the machine.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Printer, Lousy Software

Pros: Cheap 3D printer with enclosed space. large printer area, dual extruders, decent construction.

Cons: Software is junk, firmware is very limted, support almost non-existence.

Other Thoughts: i purchased this printer because it was cheap, it had good reviews, and I wanted something already built that was enclosed. When I first started using it I had trouble getting my prints to come out. Everything was moving around the bed causing a big mess. The glue they give you is garbage, better off using elmers brand instead. I tried to contact support about my issue but they was no help.

After lots of research online I realized my problem was the software, and / or the firmware. So I decided to update the firmware with repetier 0.92, and boy what a difference. I could finally change temperatures on the bed and extruders which made a world of difference, infact I don't even use the glue sticks anymore. With the new firmware you can use the repetier host software, but it takes a bit to configure things. Instead I decided to purchase Simplify3d. Everyone was raving about it, but the cost was $150... Ouch!

I have to say, now that i'm using a new firmware and software, this printer works fantastic! It's almost as good as one costing a few thousand dollars.

Oh and by the way, if you do update the firmware with repetier, you can buy aftermarket abs or pla. no need to pay the high cost of their filaments.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Very Very Well!

Pros: Easy to set up
Prints look great
Software is easy to use
Printer is easy to maintain

Cons: The software is limited
Prints could look better with better software

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a great printer than just works with no fuss and can do 2 colors for less than $1000, this is perfect. I have had no failed prints at all (can't say the same for the 1.0 model of this printer) and it worked perfectly right out of the box.

4 out of 5 eggsHardware - GREAT! Software- Terrible!

Pros: Good hardware platform. Works well once it's been hacked with Repetier firmware.

Cons: DaVinci writes terrible software. The firmware built into the printer is featureless and impossible to use. It's impossible to level the bed without buying a utility, but then it's still almost impossible. The computer based slicer program is junk. I was unable to get the latest version to work at all.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this if the friend is sophisticated enough to hack the printer, replacing the firmware with Repetier and replacing the software with Repetier host. To find the instructions for doing this, just search YouTube for davinci repetier hack.

1 out of 5 eggsAVOID!

Pros: It's cheap.

Cons: Worked for about a week, never calibrated properly, then lost all its ability to find sensors, the bed would go past its limits and throw errors immediately after turning it on. "Support" drags out the case as painfull as possible having you send in pictures, videos etc, only to conclude you must pay the $90 to ship it back to them. They kept it a week, then demanded $25 to ship it back for missing packing material (which was there since i dumped money into a second printer and used all the new materials to send it back with) Then they sent it anyway. Plugged it in and turned it on, seemed like it was fixed after a minute of being on it it threw an error that the extruder was over temp, (275degrees) yet it was cold to the touch. unplug it thinking I can just use the "working" extruder, nope it throws an error that the extruder you arent using isn't right temperature. Contacted support, their response was to leave contact info so they can call and walk me through the problem. Didn't respond in time due to being out of town for thanksgiving, they closed the case as solved. It's been several months, and have "invested" in 3 printers from their company, 1 being used for parts, 1 is this duo which is not working, and 1 1.0 aio that is actually working. So for the price of 3 of their machines, I got 1 that works. I could have just spent the $1500 and got a better quality unit with real tech support that cares. My advice save your money and buy a better product, sorry to say, this is the first "Bad review" I've ever written in 10 years of buying from newegg.

Other Thoughts: Sigh :( Does anyone read these?

1 out of 5 eggsRUN.

Pros: *A great challenge for Budhists monks (just try and stay calm)

*You'll get lots of 1 on 1 time with newegg customer service

*You larynx will get super strong from yelling at your machine

Cons: None, wait, this is the cons, section? Everyhting.

*PRICE

*MANUFACTURER CUSTOMER SERVICE

*MANUFACTURER CUSTOMER SERVICE

Other Thoughts: I HATE MY DA VINCI (Yes! plural!) so much and I HATE THE USELESS COMPANY, I cant count the number of hours I've had to pour into this thing to repair it and get it to do what the manufacturer claimed. I bought one a year ago and it lasted 11 months but it constantly needed attention and finally was too far gone. I STUPIDLY BOUGHT ANOTHER, and it was DEFECTIVE I returned it and received ANOTHER DEFECTIVE ONE. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS USELESS, they speak so little english that you can't even communicate your problems. Not that they know enough to technical info to even help you if you have a complicated problem like your heater circuit dies.

P.S. I'm an engineer who works in the 3d printing industry

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad for the price

Pros: Price is at the lower end for the type of printing quality you get.
Print quality is pretty good compared to others at the price range.
Easy to calibrate once you know what your doing.
Loading the filament is easy and pain free even for noobs If you cant figure out how to load this is not something you should be trying until you find a 5TH grader to get help and teach you the basics that how easy it is to run. Unless there is a problem with the unit start to finish i give it a 1 on the difficulty scale. They did a good job making it easy and painless.

Cons: Tray needs calibrating often because of metal warping with heat constantly changing and when removing part from the tray if it's stuck to the try it take a bit of force to remove even if you don't use the glue stick. Unless you use software that uses a feature to suck in the filament when you use both heads on the same job it will leave small specks and chunks of unused filament from the head that is not printing and goes across the area of the one that is printing. REMOVE Filament before running calibration test more then once or you can over heat any filament in nozzle and cause clogging.

1 out of 5 eggsWaste of your time & money

Pros: Price alone.

Cons: keeps breaking down. Arrived inoperative. Needed new display board, Heater failures are recurring. Replaced two heaters already. Broken belt already. More down time than up. Absolutely NO help from XYZ. I'm converting mine to an Arduino controller to remove XYZ from the picture.

Other Thoughts: Run, don't walk. Look further cause this anchor isn't worth it.
