5 out of 5 eggsDaVinci 3d printer

Pros: great entry level printer, the xyzware suck but there are ways around it. Easily hacked. I've got 2 of them and haven't had any issues. The price is great with free shipping.

Cons: Proprietary filament, as I've mentioned previously, easily hacked.

Other Thoughts: There is a steep learning curve with any 3d printer, it takes lots of reading to see what other people are doing for better prints.

5 out of 5 eggsShocked it only had 1 egg reviews

Pros: -Cost
-Print Quality
-Print Size
-Enclosed print area

Cons: -Print Speed (still as good as any competitor I just wish I were faster)
-The fact that you must use their filament cartridges (not really a con because you can hack any firmware you want onto it, and then use 3rd part filament, although their cartidges work fine)

Other Thoughts: I was shocked to see this only had 1 egg reviews. I have been using 3d printers for years, and built my first one from scratch many years ago. I have seen the nastiest clogs and seen printers fail in every which way. For under 1000 USD, this printer is the best printer on the market, period. I have over 250 hours of printing on my first one, have never had a clog, and have only had minor issues with the systems (I had to clean the optical stop sensors as they failed on me once, causing zero damage). I have done 24 hour plus prints on this no problem. I have had to create object accurate to the 100th of a mm before and used this printer to do so successfully. I'm also a 3d artist and make a lot of my own models, and this printer does a great job. Even though they try to limit you to their own software, the support system for prints their software creates is the best I have ever seen and always works great and is easy to remove.

Unless you are prepared to spend 2,000USD or more, this is the best printer you can get. Except maybe the new smaller junior version, which is cheaper if you don't need the build space.

Again, this is the BEST 3d printer under 1,000USD that exists in the world today. The other reviewers are high. The fact that this printer is user friendly at all (and it is) with the stats it offers for the price is ridiculous.

1 out of 5 eggsPrinter broke in the first week

Pros: well it's inexpensive, the prints were good when they did not fail. Software is easy enough to understand.

Cons: The glass bed shattered after 4 prints in the first week I got the printer, can't get a refund from new egg because the printer is now broken. Probably can't get a RMA on the bed from the company because they only ship US and im in Canada.

The printer is very noisy when used, half the time when you want to send a print to the printer it fails and you need to reboot the printer to get it to talk with the computer.

Had more fail prints then success but that me learning how to 3d print, still it's not just plug and play if you want to print at the highest resolution it's quite hard to make abs stick to the bed and when it does stick to the bed well the bed cracks.

The heat is not the same every where on the bed the middle gets very hot and the edges stay cold, it shattered in the middle making it unusable.

Also the support material generated by xyzware (the software to use the printer) won't work unless you make it on the thickest settings wasting material. On the medium settings it doesn't stick to the bed and on the small settings it just spew plastic all over your prints.

Other Thoughts: Now let's see how xyzware deals with this kind of stuff, not looking forward to it.

1 out of 5 eggs2 week review

Pros: Cheep machine software is easy enough to understand. the print quality surprised me on the highest settings making very smooth object but the base of the object all had some default (only had real prints out of it before it broke)

Cons: Noisy, Slow, smelly (abs), it's very tricky to get the prints to stick to the bed i used a lot of the glue supplied with the printer (uhu), i had lots of fail prints also support break mid print if not used on the thickest settings.

The worst part the bed BROKE after 4 "real" prints, prints that were not just tests that comes preloaded on the machine or from a test print from thingiverse. The glass stayed stuck on the arduino case I printed and chipped a 3" disk off the bed near the middle making the whole machine pretty much unusable.

Also you can't use any other slicer then what is supplied, it's a bit sad.

The bed wobble a bit because of the way it's design with the spings for adjustments it could use a design overall for that part.

Other Thoughts: I will change my review depending how it goes with XYZ support for the bed replacement.

I am still good on time to get a refund honestly I am thinking about it if this is the kind of quality I can expect from the product. Other review says their support team is amazing,

I doubt it since I live in canada and I don't think they will be willing to send me a bed in cross shipping no way Im shipping my bed and miss the refund date because the bed is lost in the mail if I decide to go that route.

1 out of 5 eggsWhat happened to all of the negative reviews?

Pros: None

Cons: This printer was reviewed with numerous terrible reviews about bad customer service by the manufacturer in addition to a flawed product that required multiple interactions with said bad customer service department. Where did all of the reviews go?

Other Thoughts: I did not buy this printer when it was a much lower price due to the bad reviews. I hope people do a lot of research on this product before buying it.
