Named for professional gamer, Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel, the card's X-Fi 24-bit Crystalizer will make your game audio more dynamic and realistic while improving both low and high frequencies giving you smoother, cleaner sound.

The card's audio processor, with help from Creative's CMSS-3D technology, is able to remix your stereo audio into surround sound—even through stereo headphones. 5 out of 5 eggsBest Sound Card Ever

Pros: This was the first purchase I ever made online, and my first PC part purchase. I got this back in 2008 and its still going strong today. I still use it in my rig now. Still produces the best sound quality i've ever heard from anything. The specs on this compared to anything out there today either match or surpass anything thats come out since. I really cant say enough good things about this card. If you're lucky enough find one still floating around out and there and is in good shape, BUY IT. Worth every penny. Sound quality is amazing and the X-Fi crystalizer truly does make a difference and enhances your favorite songs so you hear more from it or greatly clearifies those foosteps and sound of different terrain of your enemy in fps games. also Positional audio from this card is SICK. Love it.

Cons: None, ever.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: The Sound quality is great, the options for bringing sound in and bringing sound out are absolutely awesome. Most of the connections are still used to this very day. MIDI in and OUT are used in recording, having a miked pre-amp for a guitar or bass is phenomenal. For a small time studio user this is truely awesome.!

Cons: My remote won't work. I bought this used a few months ago and still have found no way to get it to work. Any ideas would be great.

Other Thoughts: Everything i had hoped for, headphone clarity is amazing i use an old school prologic set up. no center and it works great. looking forward to a bigger system, but i need more room.

4 out of 5 eggsThe card that won't die

Pros: I bought this card second-hand off a guy that had owned it since 2009, and I am amazed at the power of this card.

It is capable of handling the same 24 bit 96 KHz sound that the modern $150 Creative cards can handle.

Creative is still releasing driver updates for this card, and I am currently using it in a system running Windows 8.1 x64.

Cons: The styling on this card isn't as nice as some of the newer models.

There's no HD AUDIO pins for the front headphone and microphone panel on my case, only the proprietary Creative interface.

Other Thoughts: This card is a great alternative to a newer card if you're on a tight budget, and it is capable of producing quality audio to supply most any headphones or speaker systems.

4 out of 5 eggsStopped working

Pros: Seems to do its job

Cons: Just stopped working, for some reason my driver isn't be recognized anymore so its not working. I bought this in 2008 and have had it in the same machine for that long.

Other Thoughts: Is this thing only supposed to last 4 years?

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: Great sound, optical audio in (for XBox 360), uses PCI-E X1 slot. Great little card. Got the one with the front panel addition and that is just insanely useful.

Cons: I had so many problems fitting this card in with the aluminum housing it's in.

Other Thoughts: If it wasn't for the box, it would be 5/5

4 out of 5 eggsGreat sound card

Pros: Added to old P4 2.4GHz system so I could record music from my digital keyboard. Probably was overkill, but I have had little trouble with the card. I like that you can record in 24 bit and 192KHz.

Cons: I have had no trouble with the board itself, but with the Web-based driver and application update I have had trouble. Twice now, after downloading the most recent updates (e.g., drivers and/or software), the system didn't recognize the sound card. After using system restore, I was able to use the sound card again. One other time, after runing updates, the sound card was recognized, but I couldn't use most of the associated softward (i.e. the software that came with the sound card). Finally, I have resorted to installing only one update at a time, starting with the drivers, and then rebooting before installing the next update. This seems to work for me.

Other Thoughts: Would give 5 eggs, but the driver and software update process has been quite a hassle for me.

I don't really have need for the 64 MB of XRAM, but I guess it is nice to have just in case.
