Pros: Cheapest member of the true X-Fi family.
Cons: Lacks X-Ram
Other Thoughts: Contrary to what some other individual's reviews on newegg say, this IS a true X-Fi card and DOES support EAX 5.0. This card directly replaced the XtremeMusic in the X-fi line up, which has been cause for some confusion. It is the XtremeAudio which is the crippled card that offers no hardware acceleration.

Pros: Easy hookup, great price and very LOUD!!!! lol
Cons: None, for me.
Other Thoughts: For those that are having issues with Vista....... DO NOT load anything from the CD that you receive with this card! Go to the Creative website and download the Vista drivers and other software. Mine works perfectly and the tons of settings make it even more outstanding.

Pros: This is a SOLID sound card. 2 years with no problems. The crystallizer sounds great and gaming couldn't be better. With headphones it's great and with Logitech Z5500's the sound is extraordinary in 5.1 mode.

Creative needs to get their act together

Pros: - It does sound nice. I'm not gonna lie there. One of the best sound cards I've heard, especially for this money. - Small form factor for cramped cases, I guess?
Cons: - What a terrible Linux driver. Come on Creative, you have to be joking. Have you ever made a card that supports all of the operating systems? This driver doesn't even compile on half of the Linux systems out there. The first thing I tried to do in Ubuntu was install my X-Fi drivers and it failed. This is a stock Karmic (9.10) installation that hasn't been touched at all! Creative, you are truly pathetic. You're just about the only big computer company out there whose products don't work in Linux. See Other thoughts for more information on why you should never buy a Creative product ever again.
Other Thoughts: If you search the internet for "Creative cease and desist", you will easily find articles about how Creative released "Vista Ready" products, which was a huge lie because half of the cards' functions were crippled. When someone finally decided to modify Creative's drivers to make them work properly in Vista, Creative threatened him with legal action unless he stopped helping customers make their cards do what Creative told them they would do. I understand they don't want someone touching their software, but they should at least give users what they promised them.
How would you react if Creative was in the car industry? "We're going to sell you this 4-seater car, but you can only use the driver's seat until we give you 'official support' for the other three seats in about a year. Oh, and if you try to use the other three seats before we finally get around to caring about you in about a year, we're going to sue you until you cry." Don't stand for this company.

Pros: Crisp sound, works very well with either my 2.1 speakers or headphones for gaming.
Cons: Creative Auto-Update crashed a few times.
Other Thoughts: If you have windows 7, download the driver directly from Creative's website and don't use the auto-update... trust me.
