5 out of 5 eggsNot bad at all

Pros: Good, deep sound with lots of options. Comfortable ear pads, solid construction. Detatchable mic is a huge plus.

Cons: Nothing major; depending on your preferences you might find something, but nothing has really bothered me so far. I'm no audiophile, bear in mind; I just wanted good sound for a good price.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to find a headset that would be affordable (I'm not the type who's comfortable dropping $100+ on headphones) but still offer good sound. Detachable mic was also a selling point because I was going to be using it for everything, not just games, and I didn't like the idea of having this vestigial mic attached when not in use. This set offers everything I was looking for, I am not disappointed. You can tweak the sound properties to match your fondness for bass, treble and mids. Very pleased.

2 out of 5 eggsSound+

Pros: - comfortable headset
-Great Sound overall
- microphone isn't the best but does the job

Cons: I've had this headset for about 5 months + and the left side of the headset doesn't work- no sound but the right side has sound.....

Other Thoughts: Creative needs to make better headsets, sick of them breaking on me when its not even been 6 months.
never ones dropped either

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful

Pros: These headphones are exceptionally powerful given the price, and the fact that I assume you are using it with the given THX sound device or a high quality audio card. The surround sound works brilliantly and the different character voice overs are one of my favorite parts.

Cons: None presently. Can get a little heavy after excessive use of 5 hours or so.

Other Thoughts: Great Quality, Great Price, Great Buy

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful Headset

Pros: Very nice audio. Pretty strong bass for a headset. Earpads are extremely comfy, even with glasses on. Detachable mic is pretty convenient.

Cons: Mic is a wee bit finicky. Because it is detachable you have to make sure you face it the right direction or no one will hear you. Cable's a bit thin but I doubt it will break

Other Thoughts: Make sure to check around. I don't mean to back stab newegg but I found these a lot cheaper in other stores.

1 out of 5 eggsBeware of Creative Headsets

Pros: Great sound quality.

Cons: Do not buy if intended for use as a headset. Microphone volume is VERY low, friends can barely hear me on Skype with microphone volume at 100%. After about 15 minutes voice gets quieter over time, to be replaced by heavy screeching static. After a month of canned replies I was finally able to get an RMA in place. Same exact issue occurred with the new headset upon receipt. This is now the third bad Creative headset I have purchased in the last six months. Unfortunately I saw the good deal(it was on sale for something like $50) and missed the manufacturer, my mistake apparently.

Other Thoughts: If you want good sound, go ahead and buy these. If you want a good headset with a working microphone, stay the hell away from Creative. Their quality control and support are absolutely dreadful to deal with. Just because they may be affordable, now I'll be paying full price for broken junk that doesn't work.

2 out of 5 eggsGood, but there are much better out there.

Pros: -Tons of bass in the sound. This is both a good and bad thing, as the bass can actually be overwhelming from the sheer amount of boom the speakers produce. This is mostly due to the nature of being closed-back, and you can easily adjust the software to get it more in balance.
-Pretty comfortable. I can imagine people with larger heads may have a problem with being too tight, but it is something that should wear in after a while.
-Audio effects are pretty good but ONLY WHEN USED IN SMALL AMOUNTS. Unfortunately the features can be overbearing when a lot is mixed in.
-These headphones sound good when using a game's headphone audio mix. This is the best method to listen to any game since the USB converted for 7.1 and 5.1 is horrible (see below).

Cons: -The mic is terrible. It will either sound muffled, too low or any number of other issues a lot of times you use it. This could be a quality control issue since a lot of people have problems with them breaking, but all I know is everyone I game with complained to me about it which is a rare occurrence.
-The surround sound converter is incredibly terrible for this thing. If using this headset I suggest setting the game to the headphone settings instead of 7.1/5.1 . It's rather strange, it sounded like a surround "effect" but was not positional at all.
-The sound effects in the software are good when used very little, but completely destroy the sound quality and produce harsh frequencies when too much is mixed in. It's best to either turn these off completely or just use them to reduce the bass or any other slight adjustments you may find necessary.
-They don't feel solid. I didn't have any quality problems but I can see why people would have them.

Other Thoughts: Even though these headphones weren't bad, they didn't provide any of the things I was looking for in a headset that I didn't have in the poor setup I already have. For this reason and the insane bass I had to return these and go with the Logitech G35s instead. It's worth spending the extra money, and the G35s sound way better even with 40mm speakers.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Quality but Defective Mic

Pros: -Very crisp
-Very loud
-Very lightweight(weights much less than it appears)
-Very comfortable(forget I'm wearing it sometimes)
-Works on Mac and PC
-Rotation ear cups
-Sturdier than it appears
-Pretty nice bass
-Good quality non-tangle ribbon wire
-Volume & mute control
-Detachable mic(might not be a pro for some people)
-USB surround sound dongle
-3D surround sound
-3.5mm connectors
-You can choose to use the surround sound USB dongle or your own sound card
-This headset works very well as headphones for my ipod(looks normal too because you can take the mic off)- just as loud, crisp, and with bumping bass as with USB on my PC

Cons: -The mic on mine came defective, but I didn't really need it because I use my webcam's mic, and I am really happy with the headset without the mic; I could RMA it if I wanted, though.
-It's not the sturdiest headset in the world, but it'll definitely last you if you take care of it, it's still high quality.

Other Thoughts: -You have to download the drivers online and use the manufacturer's program for 3D virtual surround sound- could be good or bad, depending on preferences
-Not sure if 3d surround sound it 5.1, 7.1, or something else??
-I'm not really an audiophile, but I'll tell you I'm very satisfied with the rich sound this headset produces, both as a PC gaming headset and as headphones for my ipod.
