2 out of 5 eggsUgh this card

Pros: looks nice and has a nice red LED light.

Cons: It worked for about 7 months then died on me. Just turned on the PC one day and got nothing out of it. This is only the 3rd Creative sound card I have bought over the last 10 years or so but none have worked much longer than a year. I'm tired of spending money on these cards they just don't feel worth it too me as nice motherboards today have great on board sound.

Other Thoughts: I don't think this is available on Newegg anymore but don't buy this card regardless.

3 out of 5 eggscard great Red light Look Cool

Pros: user interface was easy to understand the knob worked great at first then the light and knob quit working had to reinstall the drivers. headphone jacket up front mic front on the head unit.
back of card had lot of connection ins and outs.

Cons: i run my computer 24/7 and i notice the there was some popping and cracking noise. i didn't try to fix it i just restart the pc and it goes away for a couple of days. not sure if it has a bad driver.

Other Thoughts: love the sound card has every thing i wanted. and was looking for. just suck that it pops and cracks some days.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat sound

Pros: Got this for my new PC to push sound through my THX speakers. Clear sound, and the front module add-on in the front of my case is great for hooking up a mic. The card looks awesome inside the case.

Cons: Expensive for a sound card in my opinion ... but the clear sound and the 'cool factor' totally make up for it

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: I bought this card only for the Optical out. Bonus is the front panel controls, much better than the on-board audio.
I installed this card in a HTPC to connect to my HT receiver, easy install, and it actually auto changes my receiver's settings depending on what I am watching.

Cons: Once you attach this via optical the software is useless, the card simply sends what the source codec is with absolutely no control over the sound. Connected vai multi connector 3.5 surround speakers, and I was able to control almost every aspect of the card.
Not an issue since it sounds great, but it is a limitation

4 out of 5 eggsSound Blaste Rcon.3-D

Pros: the creative Sound Blaster recon 3-D. The quality sound good. I have used it for about eight months now with no problems at all. I would recommend buying one if you're going to go with 5.1 surround the sound when gaming is incredible you can actually here your enemies comeing

Cons: the only thing I wish was for better knobs. On it other than that it is an excellent soundcard you just got to be careful with the knobs on not turn them too hard.

5 out of 5 eggsYou're missing out

Pros: I always wonder why people don't upgrade from their motherboard sound, it's such a big difference.

If the price is too high for you, just get the one without the front panel.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I also run my Xbox/ps sound through this card when I use my headphones, it works great. Mixamps for console are overpriced and you get less quality.

5 out of 5 eggsSound Card

Pros: Great deal for the price. I bought this as an upgrade to replace my current Sound Blaster Audigy II. Right off rip I noticed the bass boost as well as the mids and highs. I love Creative cards they are built to last.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsworks well

Pros: great little card.. the front i/o isnt for everyone but it works for me when plugging my mic or headphones in instead of using the i/o on my case and the sound is amazing.. immediately noticed a difference when listening to music

Cons: could have done without the red led.. i suppose it would suit some peoples cases but mine is a green themed case so i ended up covering up the light.. also when first installed there was a crackling noise which irked me however with some quick research i just went into my bios and turned off the onboard audio from my motherboard and voila! works like a charm.

Other Thoughts: none

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: Looks nice, feels nice, solid build quality. Preforms just as well. You can plug into the sound card for home audio receivers and headphone into the amp it comes with.

Cons: Doesn't have 7.1. I think it re-equalized music instead of leaving it flat, still need to look into that.

Other Thoughts: If you have a nice home audio setup or studio headphone, then I definitely would recommend getting a high end sound card. Also, The best feature about this is you can push the volume and mic adjustments on the amp in to make it flush and push again so they pop out. Why can't receivers and head units have this?
