4 out of 5 eggsNice card, ok driver.

Pros: The card seems to be of a high quality construction and the audio clarity with the optical out is amazing with my logitec z5500 speakers.

Cons: Problems with windows 7!! I downloaded the upgraded drivers and got some program that doesn't even look like the one in the manual to configure the speakers. It seems to be working but the driver software is very buggy. It let me configure the speakers but when i tried to re-open it crashed and i cant open it now.

Other Thoughts: Its a nice sounding card, however auzentech needs to come out with a better driver soon.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card in VISTA ! Won't work in 7 ...

Pros: Optical Inputs. 7.1 sound, though I'm only on 5.1. Longevity in design.

Cons: Drivers for Windows 7 won't work.

Other Thoughts: I've owned this card for over a year, about 15 months to be precise. Worked great in Vista Ultimate 64-bit machine for my wife, and with a Logitech Z5450 system.
Now, over a year later I had problems immediately after upgrading that exact machine to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit where everything in the box found a driver immediately, but the Xplosion 7.1 Cinema card.

I've tried a few routes such as installing the C-Media CI8770 drivers and that did nothing but screw up the Device Manager list with a yellow exclamation point sign.

I just gave my wife the ability to have on her machine our full iTunes library but she can't hear it !

The executable given by Auzentech is short and sometimes will not finish if it sees a shared file and just says its done.

With the Windows 7 Drivers from Auzentech as of today, 12/4/09 they look like they work, nothing amiss in Device Manager, you can even see the music level meter when you go to increase the volume but no sound.

1 out of 5 eggsIncompatible with Vista?

Pros: Sounds very good in 2 channel mode

Cons: Simply does not work in 5.1 dolby mode. Once the supplied c-media software is installed, it stops working completely. Emails to Auzentech have not been returned. Will be returning this one.

1 out of 5 eggsWhat Quality????

Pros: Fast shipping! German sounding name......not a Mercedes------

Cons: Never did work right. It always seemed to have driver issues. The optical input always dropped out. The channels seemed to be confused. It would run for a while then it would quit and you would have to reinstall it or trouble shoot it. It is a real pain in the but! Don't buy this. Stay with the tried and true brands.

Other Thoughts: It just finally messed up the operating system! I could not get any program to execute as long as the drivers for this Explosion were installed at all. This was touted as a much better quality board than the Creative brand even though they both run the same chip. They were right: The board didn't smash as near as I thought it would after I ran over it with my car.......Piece of junk.....

3 out of 5 eggsSounds good, but...

Pros: When installed under Windows XP this card performs well. Good sound quality, and straightforward installation.

Cons: The manufacturer claims windows 7 support, however after three clean installof 7 I was never able to get the digital out to work.

Other Thoughts: If this is your fisrt attempt into home theater, make sure your 3rd party dvd software supports DTS. I bought a new Blue Ray for this project, and the software was too old to provide digital sound. Updating to the latest version resolved this.

If you expect timely technical support for a product you bought, pass on this card. The only support option is through E-Mail, and I have been waiting 72+ hours for a response.

5 out of 5 eggs:D

Pros: i was sooooo sketchy with all the whack reviews for the creative x-fi titanium sound card. that i decided i would go with some other company. Well seeming their isn't many this card came up and it works perfect. it was easy to install, upgrading the drivers was simple and it sounds good.

(i run it on xp home)

Cons: nothing so far, well you could say there tech support is a little funny cause there is no phone number to call its all online support, but seeming i haven't had to deal with them that is really not a con for me.

Other Thoughts: i saw some things about this card lowering fps in games ?? but maybe thats just them i use a q6600 quadcore and i havent seen any noticeable fps drops.

5 out of 5 eggsOptical Digital Sound Card

Pros: Great card, easy to install. They include an optical cable to go to your amp. Also, an SPDIF cable to carry digital sound from your DVD drive to the sound card. Got it hooked up and my amp now receives Dolby Digital 5.1 coming from my CPU. Barely had to look at the soft manual.

Cons: A few warm on-board chips. Ensure you have some cooling.

Other Thoughts: This project is complete. I've moved on to other upgrades.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Sound Card I've Ever Had

Pros: I wished I had bought this sound card when I built my first PC last year. Great sound and much better than the Crea***e SB X*i sound card I bought. I trashed that card (wasted $100), and AuzenTech has more than made up the difference. I am making the switch to Linux from the other operating system and the X-Plosion 7.1 has worked flawlessly on my 4 drive, 4 boot Linux Machine. The sounds are crisp and clean, and with my Logitech THX Speakers....the AuzenTech produces professional sound quality that would please anyone. The Best Solid Sound Card on the market!

Cons: Absolutely None

Other Thoughts: I buy all my parts for my pc builds at Newegg. However, when I went to purchase this card, Newegg had been temporarily out of stock for the E-Plosion. I ended up buying it from another website and was scammed an extra $15.00 on shipping charges. I paid $25.00 for next day air from one shipping company...and they shipped it next day air from another shipping company which was $10.00 and kept the $15.00 difference. The next time if I find something out of stock from Newegg, it will pay me to be patient to wait. Just a reminder to stick to Web Sites like New Egg whom I've trusted and bought from for many years. Newegg, Thank You !

5 out of 5 eggsAudible?

Pros: I can't hear it :-)

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: The joke is that the anomalies such as distortion are so low it is difficult to hear the card.
