5 out of 5 eggsWin 8.1 Instant Install

Pros: Easy Install, Great Sound Quality

Cons: It takes up a tiny bit of desk space. Not a problem for me.

Other Thoughts: Plug-n-Play worked perfectly. New wireless card messed with motherboard sound drivers, for $40 it made more sense to try a different route to get sound working again. Almost glad the drivers had conflict, because it led me to this device. The sound quality is amazing. No problems so far and very pleased with the ease of use, construction, quality and superb sound.

5 out of 5 eggsSIIG IC-710112-S1

Pros: This device works like a charm. I was having trouble with my sound card and this was easier and cheaper. The software that it comes with is also good.

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great, new standard for me

Pros: Simple, and it just works. Powered by USB with simple but somewhat unnecessary volume control on top. Long lasting. I wanted something I could have on my desktop and when I wanted to get to it to plug in new headphones or mic I didn't have to crawl underneath my desk

Cons: USB Type B from the device out. Hard to find replacement cables if you lose yours. The port placement for your headphones, mic and speak systems are a bit odd. The heabphone jack is in front which is great but next to it is the line in, and 4 jacks for 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound, and port for mic is on the left. So when you are done hooking up all the wires it looks like a crazy spiderweb. Luckily I use with my Razer Ferox and Headphones most of the time so it's not a bother for me.

Other Thoughts: I love this, aside from it's odd jack placement and making sure I NEVER lose my USB type B cord IMO this is how ALL sound cards should be from now on.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat USB sound card

Pros: -S/PDIF output
-6 channel discrete analog outputs
-USB powered, no power brick needed
-Sends DTS and dolby digital audio to my 5.1 receiver over the optical output
-USB cable included

Cons: -Sound quality is pretty good but not amazing, but the price was right for my budget

Other Thoughts: I got this external sound card to use with my HTPC running XBMC. My movies with DTS and Dolby Digital audio tracks are sent flawlessly to my receiver, and sound much better than the onboard analog output.

5 out of 5 eggsA LIFESAVER!

Pros: Internal amplifier has a 12db gain to it which avails both gunshots and dialog in my video games that I haven't been able to hear for some time.

Cons: the pads on the bottom aren't really of any use it just slides around so you need to place it in a place so it won't get bumped especially the optical wire.

Other Thoughts: I have been looking for a inline amplifier for my Turtle Beach X41 Headset for some time but they cost a small fortune and it had to be spdif connections to boot. Then I stumbled onto this baby and discovered it had a small but significant amplifier built in. Now I can hear the games again and enjoy them as well it is pretty difficult to duck if you can't hear the gun shots or the guy giving you a clue that you need to follow up on or having to read subtitles whilst bullets are flying by. It is only $39.99 elsewhere so check that out as well.

4 out of 5 eggsIntended to Replace adding a Sound Card

Pros: The device is very easy to install and operate. The interface inside the operating system is very intuitive and easy to customize your audio parameters to suit your needs.

Cons: The Optical interface is only a "Recording" interface. It will not port audio through the device (ie. 5.1 audio IN....5.1 audio OUT)

Other Thoughts: I purchased this to use with my PS3. However, come to find out it isn't compatible with gaming systems. Just be advised that you can only use this device with your computer. But...great product for getting 5.1 audio without having to add an expansion card onto your motherboard!
