5 out of 5 eggsWell built SC

Pros: Easy to install over any PCIe slot, Excellent Drivers, small footprint, never gets hot, Excellent sound..(speaker dependent). I wanted a differant sound card other that other company that Craps on their customers. I got it with the SIIG. Proper settings in Windows and sound card and was watching movies in DTS on my Onkyo reciever. Didn't need any other Drivers to get DTS to work flawlessly..great buy.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: Home theater system...Onkyo TX-NR414, Panosonic Blue Ray, THX Ultra2 Home Theater System, From Klipsch, 60" Sony SXRD TV. SOund card does a good job for the p

1 out of 5 eggsgarbage

Pros: When it works it's an average at best sound card.

Cons: The Problem is that half the time the pc reboots, or turns on it makes a high pitch squealing noise. The customer service of SIIG was not good, all they said was try a new driver (I had the latest). The next advice was return it. For a $25 item it's not worth it.

Other Thoughts: Look elsewhere it's a piece of junk.

5 out of 5 eggsExactly what I needed

Pros: Simple implementation (hardware and software), quality hardware (visually), and included low-profile bracket.

Cons: None I can think of.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to make a HTPC out of an Acer/Gateway small-form-factor machine (I got a good deal on it), and to my dismay, the model I got did not have digital audio out (coax/TOSLINK). Since the board only has PCIe slots, using my old M-Audio PCI card was out of the question, not to mention it's not a low-profile card. This card fit the bill perfectly! I grabbed the latest drivers directly from VIA site (Envy24) instead of from SIIG site. 96kHz digital to my external DAC through TOSLINK works flawlessly!

Another plus for a bit of nostalgia. I used to have SIIG ISA cards for parallel/serial ports. Those were the days....

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well for WonderWare

Pros: We needed a half height PCI-e sound card that would work on windows server 2008 R2, and this was one of the few out there that actually worked flawlessly with InTouch WonderWare.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Budget Sound Card

Pros: Price, ease of installation, small driver footprint, sound quality, low profile bracket

Cons: Driver not updated in a while, but it doesn't seem to matter.

Other Thoughts: Works great in my Dell 790 SFF. Very easy installation on Windows 7 Enterprise (remember to uninstall onboard sound, then disable it in the BIOS before installing this card). My Logitech Z323 speakers sound much better (fuller, better midrange) with this card than they did with onboard (Realtek) sound. The needed low-profile bracket was included - this seems to be rather hard to find on some of the newer PCIe cards. Overall, I am very pleased - a great deal.

4 out of 5 eggsOverall nice card

Pros: -This card does pass Dolby/DTS AC3 to a external receiver/decoder with the proper software.

-The VIA software is clean and lightweight.

-Handles 5.1 in games like BF3 just fine.

-Sound overall is clean and response is better than I thought.

-Comes with a low profile bracket.

-Installs clean and works as it's advertised.

Cons: Drivers seem to not have been updated for awhile. I have not ran into any issues so far.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend it for a budget level sound card.
