Enjoy crystal clear audio as it was meant to be heard. CLARO II provides up to 7.1ch analog outputs, optical input, optical output, coaxial output, 2pin digital input and 2pin digital output on onboard. In addition, a top class AD8620BR opamp enhances front analog output and anti-pop circuitry is built-in. Experience the full potential of all your games, music, and movies with the HT OMEGA CLARO II.

  • newegg High Quality Components & BUILT IN ANTI-POP CIRCUITRY High quality stereo DAC from AKM Inc. supports 24 bit/192kHz audio for Front output. The top class opamp AD8620BR from Analog Device Inc. is also used for front output to enhance sound resolution. High grade Audio Capacitor (UTSJ type) from Toshin Kogyo used for front analog output (it affects Front Panel Audio output too). In addition, mass storage Capacitors and protection circuits effectively reduce and eliminate electronic shock and noise. By controlling in-rush current, they allow gradual increase and decrease for fade-in and fade-out. This protects your monitor speakers and headphones from being damaged by the 'pop noise' when you switch your system on and off.
  • newegg Dolby Digital Live Dolby Digital Live is real-time encoding technology. The real-time interactive capabilities of DDL technology reproduce audio cues and effects that follow the on-screen action, capturing the essence of gameplay and transforming it into exciting and realistic entertainment.
  • newegg Pro Logic IIx Pro Logic IIx is the first and only technology to process any native stereo or 5.1 signal into a 6.1 or 7.1 channel output, creating a seamless, natural surround sound environment that immerses you in the entertainment experience.
  • newegg Dolby Headphone technology Dolby Headphone technology allows you to listen to music, watch movies, and play video games with the dramatic surround effects of a 5.1 channel soundtrack through any set of headphones. • newegg DTS INTERACTIVE Take any LPCM (2+ channels) and encode it into DTS bit stream (48kHz at 1.5 Mbps). Connect directly with just a single cable connection (coaxial or optical) to your DTS enabled surround sound system. Stereo and multi-channel sources up to 5.1 are encoded into a DTS audio signal and sent out from the CLARO sound card to whatever DTS enabled system you own: powered PC speakers, an A/V receiver, any other surround decoder sound system. Eliminate the clutter and cost of multiple analog cables.
  • newegg DTS NEO: PC DTS NEO: PC is a matrix technology that instantly transforms any of your simple 2 channel audio into full 7.1 surround sound. Turn your stereo audio (WMA, MP3, CD among the formats available) into a convincing multi-channel audio experience. 1 out of 5 eggsNo PCI-E

Pros: Good specs & high SNR compared to other sound cards.

Cons: PCI???? Most companies move forward as time goes by.This card is basically $200 delivered and they use old tech.So if your a gamer this in most cases is useless as most top end MB manufactures don't even offer pci any more.

Other Thoughts: I was really looking forward to getting away from creative sound cards and HT omega seemed like a good choice until i noticed there top end cards mount with old tech..

2 out of 5 eggsLooks Good, but System Doesn't See It.

Pros: Needed a sound card with Optical Input, so I can save music off of a collection of Sony MDs.

Cons: Computer doesn't see the card. It appears that the card is not fully seated by almost 3/16" in the PCI slot.

The mounting bracket is too short and contacts the case before the card is fully seated. It appears that HT Omega used the same mounting bracket as their Fenix PCI-E version of the card. That card would be fully seated in a PCI-E slot due to the difference in the way the card's slot contacts are designed.

Other Thoughts: Having seen other reviews saying the cards were DOA, I would suspect they also suffered from this problem.

No way to alter the bracket. Could try removing it to see if card seats fully into the slot. A custom fabricated bracket would be the only solution.

1 out of 5 eggsNot-A-Peep

Pros: Looks nice

Cons: This card was DOA and a total rip off. Had too long to return to Newegg. Supplied documentation was out of date and did not agree with updated drivers I down loaded. Their web site was no help at all.
I never got a single peep out of this card!

Other Thoughts: I now know what sound card NOT to buy!

3 out of 5 eggsGood sound quality, but no muting

Pros: This sound card delivers superior audio quality to almost any alternative. Beautiful highs, mids & lows. If you are seeking a great card for audio in your HTPC, this one should be considered.

Cons: There is no muting this card without muting the entire system. I have a 1-year-old in the next room and want to use headphones while the speakers are muted. There is no way that you can do that with this card.

Other Thoughts: This would have been ideal if the card could mute speakers while playing headphones.

4 out of 5 eggsLove it!

Pros: 7.1! awesome, once you get used to the UI, changing stuff is relatively simple, allows for testing of individual, no lag off video

Cons: only 5.1 through Optical, not a big problem for me because that is my setup
UI takes some time to get used to, however switching via the win7 sound menu is still easier once you have the fine tunes down

3 out of 5 eggsGood, but not great

Pros: Works well, sounds good. Software is good for the most part, even if the interface isn't so pretty.

Cons: Terrible ASIO drivers. If you're going to use ASIO look elsewhere!

Other Thoughts: Looking back, I do regret spending the money on this card. I could probably find something that would work better for me (with functional ASIO drivers) for a lot less.

4 out of 5 eggswith astro a40 headphones and mixamp

Pros: works
dolby digital
optical out

Cons: PCI: uses regular old PCI, which means its hard to find a modern motherboard with all the bells and whistles.

Other Thoughts: i'm using this with an optical cable out to my astro mixamp and astro a40 headset. the dolby digital setting for this is great.

now i'm conflicted. i want to upgrade my pc, but i will have to pick a subpar (not mainstream) mobo to make this work.

5 out of 5 eggsNever knew what I was missing

Pros: Sound is very clear. I hear things in music that I never heard before. Underlying beats, harmonies... it's just beautiful. Playing games also feels like the surround presence is better and more distinct.

Cons: I'm not a fan of where they put the connectors for the front audio. I was hoping maybe on the side facing the hard drives or the side facing out of the case. However, they put it on top of the card, so I had to connect it before sliding it in next to a nearby device.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Excellent sound card! Runs great and offers wonderful audio. the Digital outs work great with my receiver on giving it true 5.1 surround sound. Not just a stretched out 2.1. Easy install drivers from website. Works great on Windows 8.

Cons: Only cons is about drivers, the CD that came with it my Windows 8 wouldn't read. No big deal I just downloaded them off the website very easily. But when I went to install them my AVG seen it as a virus. Just had to bypass that and it installed fin.

Other Thoughts: Got this card when it was on sale for $149.99, planed on getting it anyway full price or not but i noticed it was on sale at the time and took the opportunity. Very satisfied with this card.
