Great video quality Great sound quality GREAT PRICE!!!
-
- Pros: Great video quality Great sound quality GREAT PRICE!!!
I wanted to take higher res vids than i could with my point and shoot. That's what this does. I can carry it in my pocket and its no more bothersome than a cell phone. Very few options makes setup simple: Choose vid quality then record! YOU CAN CHANGE THE BATTERY!!!!! I bought mine directly from Creative because NewEgg doesn't sell them.
- Cons: Buttons need to pushed deliberately to respond. Not that big of a deal but. Sometimes the screen blanks out but i pull the battery and its fine. Very light which makes it feel a bit cheap, but i feel confident it will last quite a while. Good video quality means large file about a MEG per second set to "HD+", but its MUCH better than VGA. The instant record option WILL kill the battery a lot quicker than just turning it off. I dont use this anymore unless i know ill be recording again very quickly. I also carry a backup battery so..... Not really cons just small things i would have like to have known before hand.
- Other Thoughts: I would buy another if i lost this one. The main reason i bought this as apposed to other brands is the ability to change the battery out.
Thanks NEWEGG!!!1!! Im posting a short video just to show the HD+ settings video quality. I dont know if this site will support the file types but.....
Best in Show
- Pros: Price, size, audio/video quality - I think it's all really great.
8GB of space has proved to be enough for me, and the battery seemed to last long enough too. Colors are well represented - the whites are usually pretty solid except in some situations where some of it will come out as a light pinkish color, as stated in another review. The camera records pretty well in low-light situations and when recording fast movement. The audio is fairly good - it doesn't distort easily and doesn't pick up too much background/white noise. Controls are easy/simple enough to figure out without a manual. The installed software is simple and does its job, but if you prefer not to use it you can simply drag and drop the recorded files from the camera to your computer.
- Cons: The battery can only be charged via USB, although it can be swapped unlike some other cameras of its type. The digital zoom isn't the greatest, but I have yet to record on a camera with a great digital zoom. Because of its size, it is hard to keep stable sometimes. I bought a mini-tripod and have been using it as a counterweight, which has worked pretty well, imo.
- Other Thoughts: For $200, this is probably the best pocket-sized HD camcorder you can get right now. After trying the Flip Ultra HD, Cannon Zi6, and Sony Webbie HD, I've found that this camera delivers sharper and more accurate footage than the others.
It's also good to keep in mind that these cameras aren't really the new generation of HD filmmaking, as they're more of a new generation of household camcorders - they're phenomenal if you're planning to record trips, shows, or Youtube videos, but doesn't replace what some high end cameras can shoot.

decent
- Pros: overall everything is decent for the price. not great but no major complaints so far
- Cons: the hdmi connector is hell to get to with the plastic covering that comes with it. Brightness gets to be an issue if full lighting is not on
- Other Thoughts: wouldnt buy again but would recommend to super beginners of hand held camcorders.
great product at a great price
- Pros: I bought this for a trip I took across country, and I am 100% satisfied with the results. For 120 bucks (now I see it's 90), it's a complete no-brainer if you don't already have a video capture device. It's light, small, durable (I dropped it a few times), and the battery lasts quite a while. It does indeed record up to 2 hours on the HD+ setting, and the quality is exceptional. Sound quality is pretty decent too. Built in HDMI allows for easy plug and play into your HDMI capable monitor/HDTV. Video software makes it easy to chop up your videos and upload them to youtube.
- Cons: It does tend to get washed out on outdoor brights, but does adjust as best it can. Battery life runs well short of the capture time limit.
- Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a good, low cost video capture device, pick this little puppy up.
Nice Quality
- Pros: Really compact--smaller than the competition. Video quality is really nice. Price is right.
- Cons: None yet.
- Other Thoughts: Keep in mind this and the new Vado HD models use the same electronics. Get the model with the best price--performance will be the same.
