Tech Level: average - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: Takes great pics, feels solid and well built.
Cons: First one failed the first time we took it underwater.. which sucks because we had to use our cheap backup camera on our trip to mexico.
Other Thoughts: Olympus replaced it and the second one works flawlessly. Definitely check that it doesn't leak right after purchasing to avoid lugging around a dead camera on your vacation.

Amazing

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: 12Megapixel with great auto shooting capabilities. Pretty much shock proof, water proof, everything proof, just very durable all around.
Cons: Only has a 3x digi zoom, very bad in that aspect
Other Thoughts: I gave this camera 5eggs because i have already had it here in IRAQ for over a month, been on a few missions already, and except for a few scratches holds up just fine in bouncing armored vehicles, it takes quite the beating.

Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: Very tough (Obviously). Because the lens is internal, it is difficult to break. I have seen a salesman literally throw it against a wall, then pick it up and take a picture
Cons: Difficult menus. Took 4 or 5 'clicks' just to turn on burst mode Color seemed slightly off, though that is opinion based. Overall picture quality is slightly lower than expected.

Works as advertised

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: This is my 3rd Olympus, first (C-700) died when my wife dropped it, second (C-7070) got rained on and is misbehaving now.
This one is definitely waterproof, first test in a hot tub (102F), second test filming fish in our pond (55F), third test in salt waters of Florida coast. Pretty much every day for a month. Not a glitch. Just make sure you rinse it in fresh water and blow off sand. 16:9 widescreen, nice.
Didn't try to drop it and don't intend to, however, it seems to be very solidly built.
Intuitive interface, much better than either of the above.
Recharges off your USB port - great.
Built-in memory. Filled up your 1/2 Gig card? Take it out and keep on shooting. Great idea.
Large, clear LCD
Cons: Records movies either in underwater or 'above' water mode. Meaning that when you record fishies and you want to come above the water to include the shark fin circling around you, your colors will have a horrible hue for the 'above' water portion. Remedy: don't do it.
Other Thoughts: Read the manual. It's very easy to set it to macro mode and then wonder why all pictures turn out fuzzy. Doh... I ride a motorcycle, this is a perfect camera to throw into a tank bag and not worry about it. Do realize that this is not a camera to take high resolution professional pictures with. However, it does a great job shooting vacation scenery and filming people and dogs doing stupid tricks.

Worst Ever
Reviewed By: on 1/6/2010
Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: works if you keep it away from water.
Cons: My swimming shorts are more waterproof then this camera. I brought one to take on my honey moon. I tested it and it broke in the water... I exchanged for another one... went on my honeymoon and it broke the same way the first time i went snorkeling! I have been around cameras my whole life and Im sticking to cannon. This was a total waste of money and ruined the pictures from my underwater adventures..
