Pros: Takes great pics, feels solid and well built.
Cons: First one failed the first time we took it underwater.. which sucks because we had to use our cheap backup camera on our trip to mexico.
Other Thoughts: Olympus replaced it and the second one works flawlessly. Definitely check that it doesn't leak right after purchasing to avoid lugging around a dead camera on your vacation.

Not Waterproof!

Pros: It is a rugged little guy, and takes decent pictures. I need a camera that will go to the beach and be tossed in my backpack without a problem. I don't like to baby my cameras and this guy can definately be knocked around a bit.
Cons: The controls or something got water in it! I took to the beach a few times jumped in the water and now the controls won't work. I cannot switch modes while the camera is on. I must turn off the camera then switch modes and turn back on. Some of the other buttons are messed up too, when trying to review pictures and moving to the next one random buttons are activated or some do not work right as well. I accidently deleted a couple pictures because of this. Sand as also got into some of the little watertight doors as well.
Other Thoughts: Do not take these cameras in the water! This is my second olympus my first being the 850sw and it got water logged as well but that one just broke. I don't like going through this whole mailing back stuff ordeal. I work in Hawaii on a ship, shipping is expensive and my time is valuable. I figured it was probably a fluke and bought another one.... Nope not waterproof at all! Actually got wet faster then the first one I bought. This is a nice rugged camera though just don't take it into the water. Disappointed by Olympus again...

Pros: Durable and worry-free. I like 'worry-free' technology. A GPS falls into that category. You set the destination and if you make a wrong turn, it gets you back on track. This camera is the most worry free camera I've owned. I owned the previous 720 model and had no qualms with it. When I took it scuba diving and didn't realize I had lost one of the front screws, the camera didn't recover, so I had to replace it, so I got this model.
On the beach, if your trying to get that perfect shot of someone catching a wave, and a wave is heading your direction. Do you move? Negative. Stay strong, let the wave pass and watch everyone else lift their camera's or run away from the wave.
If it starts raining, do you worry about your camera getting wet? No.
If your kid does his first underwater swim in your backyard swimming pool, can you get it? Yes.
Cons: The pictures are sometimes grainy.
The camera doesn't come with a battery charging station. You must charge the battery in the camera.
Other Thoughts: Get the combo deal if it's still available. It comes with a 2nd battery and a carrying case that doesn't do a bad job.

I love this camera!

Pros: Its very compact and takes great pictures. I took it swimming within the first few days I bought it, and it did great. I am an avid skier, and I'm sure the freezeproof and crushproof will serve me well. I am using currently using a 4GB SDHC Card with the MASD-1, and everything seems to function including in-camera panorama. I love the tap controls as well.
Cons: I honestly can't think of anything else I would want from a camera.
Other Thoughts: I highly recommend for anyone like myself that is constantly dropping their valuable electronics. I can't wait to test out the built-in manometer in the lake next summer!

Good camera, no MASD-1 adapter

Pros: Showed up quick, havent put through the paces hard core yet but pictures are clear and detail when blown up is nice. Great outdoor camera for anyone into biking, hiking, backpacking, or whatever else due to the waterproofness and shock resistance. Havent taken snowboarding yet to test its performance in the cold but its on my list.
Cons: The newegg website blurb said it came with an included MASD-1 adapter which allows you to use a micro-sd card for the memory storage (up to 8 gb storage). A previous customer review said that it did too. The package that showed up said it was supposed to have one inside the box as well. But none was there. Called newegg and they said that the pictures in their image viewer did not show a MASD-1 adapter so that meant that one was not included. I mentioned all of the other things that indicated it should have one. They disagreed. I complained. They still disagreed but gave me a small credit for the misunderstanding. Someday they may fix the confusion but for now, dont expect a MASD-1 card adapter to come with the camera. Found out that the panorama function does not work with the micro-sd cards anyway. So if 2gb is enough memory storage for you (max memory for the xd picture card from olympus) then get an xd picture card from olympus.
