  • newegg Dust Reduction System Dust Reduction System uses Supersonic Wave Filter (SSWF) to loosen and remove any and all dust and debris from the image sensor. The SSWF unnoticeably vibrates at approximately 30,000 times per second upon start-up and when manually activated for clear, aberration-free images. SSWF dust removal means you don't have to worry about dust when changing lenses.

5 out of 5 eggsSuperior images, lots of options

Pros: This camera has just about everything one not needing a rain tight unit. It's twin types of auto focus (contrast or phase) grab focus fast. It's ultrasonic sensor cleaner keeps dust off the sensor and it's internal image stabilization works with all lenses. You don't need IS built into every lens with the extra cost. For those who want ease, the face detection auto focus performs well

Cons: Some older lenses will not auto focus in live view mode. (LCD). For those you must use the viewfinder.

Other Thoughts: More compact than the E-5xx series. That means a slightly smaller and lower capacity battery. Extra after market batteries are low cost thus this is not a big deal.
