2 out of 5 eggsNot very happy so far

Pros: The specs on the camera are awesome. You can't beat the pictures from a 14mp camera no matter what the zoom is. I am also a subscriber to Consumer Reports and this is one of their "best buy" or "recommended" cameras. that is why I bought it at all.

Cons: Have had digital cameras since 2002. Right out of the box on Christmas after going thru the settings the camera took the blurriest photo's I've ever seen. Tried sport, looked for the way to speed up the shutter but couldn't find it. I put the manual on my wife's laptop so she could actually read it and play with the camera at the same time. I don't think she is happy with it at all. We wanted a quick point and shoot and a high end SLR, but I don't think this camera is going to be staying with us.

Other Thoughts: Nice looking camera. I was impressed with the optical zoom and the mega-pixels this camera has, but the actual photos are just terrible. I might call customer support and see if they are patient enough to basically teach me this camera. I bought a 32gb class 10 SDHC and after every photo it will say "busy". I guess for close photo's under 10 to 12 feet I could reduce the number of mega-pixels. That might stop that plus 14mp will make a billboard sized photo. I would look for something else. I have had 3 Kodak cameras and loved them, and I am one picky soul. I will amend this in a few short weeks if anything positive happens.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!!

Pros: GREAT optical zoom and almost fish eye super wide angle. More features than I care to list but all impressive. Especially the auto panoramic image making and dual stabilization. Plus it will take 6 pics a second in hi speed mode at 5mpx. IT ROCKS. I use it for bird pictures, school programs, and my son's football games and yesterday got a shot of comet ISON in broad daylight. IT IS A POWERHOUSE in a small package at a hard to believe price. I'm still pinching myself after over 6 months. I LOVE IT. Hot rod for Geo Metro price. BRIGHT screen too. Also super helpful "?" button that explains all the features.

Cons: It does become "busy" if you take about 60 consecutive high speed pics while it puts the images into the SD card. So shoot 2 to 5 second bursts and you have no worries. The flash must be released with a click or it defaults to slow shutter speed BUT not a problem with dual stabilization.

Other Thoughts: It ROCKS!!

1 out of 5 eggsBE CAREFUL!

Pros: Too scared to name a pro.

Cons: Image Stabilization questions -- Do research. This camera is said to
be very poor under low-light conditions, or when using zoom.

Be careful when buying a camera without mechanical image stabilization.
Digital image stabilization is not enough.

SCARY Language: The explanation says, "Dual Image Stabilization -- Dual
Image Stabilization combines Sensor-Shift Image Stabilization with high
ISO sensitivity and fast shutter speeds to capture crisp, clear images
in any situation."

What is "Sensor-Shift" Image Stabilization? Why did Olympus use
different words than normally used?

This: "high ISO sensitivity and fast shutter speeds", is not image
stabilization. It is just fast shutter speeds.

NO BSI CMOS Sensor -- This camera is said to be poor under low-light
conditions. Put "BSI CMOS" into a Google search and find the Wikipedia
explanation. BSI CMOS is "BackSide-Illuminated CMOS" which seems to be the new standard. I have a camera with a BSI CMOS sensor and it is
amazing.

Other Thoughts: Here is one comment about this Olympus camera: "Any movement at all
(even a tapping toe) came out so blurry, the pic wasnt worth keeping."

MAJOR Spamming: A Google search shows that someone has put the model
number, V102080RU000, on many, many web sites, including spam on
Sourceforge.net, a free software web site.

5 out of 5 eggsOn order -- Will post back after trying.

Pros: Price is where I was interested as I had the exact amount on store credit. I like to ride bicycle alot and have came across a few things on the road I wish I had a camera for. I figure to leave this in my handlebar bag and use it while biking. 5 Stars to start, but will post again if needs be.

Cons: I've heard the video is lacking somewhat and low light is grainy due to cheap sensor. Mono only which makes no sense as stereo wouldn't have cost any more.

Other Thoughts: For my needs, this may be enough of a camera. I do videography for the most part, but have been a shutterbug for 50 years as well. The digital age has open wide the doors to all who have even a bit of talent. Don't be afraid to have a go and have some fun while your at it.
