4 out of 5 eggsSolid Ultra-compact

Pros: Excellent resolution in a small body, good battery life, compact design, uses SD memory cards. The "Scene" presets adjust ISO, flash, and shutter speeds effectively, making this a very user-friendly camera. Video abilites are excellent, as is the spiffy GUI for the menu interface. A better than average system of sorting through images, including a by-date method.

Cons: Many cons that other reviewers would list are simply due to the limitations of an ultra-compact. These include the fact they require adequate light to take an image without blurring, but this is true for any camera, and an experienced even amateur photographer should be able to overcome this (tripods, supported positions, ISO/shutter speed adjustments).

However, for the S6 per se, I must agree with WiFi function. While it is a great concept, it simply is too much of a hassle, although I did manage to get it working, and I find myself using my trusty multi-format memory card reader.

The dock, as many complain about it, is necessary in order to keep the camera small and compact. Extra plugs for A/V, USB, Firwwire, etc. would make the camera body too large. But what is exceedignly bad about the dock, and admittedly other brands are guilty of this as well, is the fact that the transfer rate of the dock for this camera is an appalling USB 1.x - Why????

Other Thoughts: Granted the fact that is an ultra-compact, but why not include some ability to manually adjust shutter speed?

This is an excellent camera in and of itself, but I would save some money and go for an S3 or S5, because the WiFi ability is the only real difference between them and the S6 (5 MP is more than enough resolution for the average amatuer photographer).
The S3 and S5 are also substantially smaller without this WiFi hardware. For any of the S series Nikon ultra-compacts, a stand-alone USB 2.0/Firewire card reader is a must due to the sluggish transfer rate of the dock.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Camera!

Pros: Takes really nice pics.

Tiny size.

Tons of features.

VERY user friendly menus. Easy to just pick up and use.

HUGE smudge and scratch resistant LCD. Finger prints aren't really an issue on the LCD.

Battery life is good. Lasted a whole weekend with people playing with it. I would recommend an extra battery if you plan a long trip with it.

Docking station!! Who doesn't want another docking station on thier desk!!

Intelligent use of the flash

Cons: Wireless transfer doesn't work at all. So don't count on that being a feature.

Can't hook up to a computer without the docking station. I might be wrong about this one, but I looked and there isn't a mini USB port on the camera. The connection is built into the docking station wire. An SD card reader will take care of that problem though.

Other Thoughts: This camera has a great bang to buck ratio. Between the light easy to carry design, and the great optics this camera is a great buy.

I couldn't give it 5 stars because of the wireless feature being so useless. It would be a really fun feature if it worked.

5 out of 5 eggsSuper Sweet

Pros: Best digital camera I have owned. Takes excellent pictures, and very good video as well. It is very easy to copy the pictures to a PC. It has the ability to record only sound and the quality is wonderful. Huge screen and the camera looks very sweet as well.

Cons: The wifi capability is sort of difficult to set up if not experienced. The camera sometimes takes blurry pictures if the flash is off in daylight.
Very high quelity video and pictures take up quite a lot of space, but the quality can be toggled.

Other Thoughts: Super awesome camera, very much hope it lasts me many years because I cant imagine a better one coming around.

4 out of 5 eggsthe RAZR of digital cameras

Pros: Large 3" LCD screen w/ wide viewing angles to show pictures to all who care to see. 6 megapixels in a compact snapshot camera... c'mon that's just sweet

Cons: User Interface sucks the buttons are small and menus can be confusing if you've never owned a nikon. I compare it to the RAZR. it's for people who must have the slimmest and sleakest camera on the market. It IS a Nikon and it IS a great snapshot camera but for the power user, it's rubish

Other Thoughts: expect to see this little gadget in US weekly when (insert celeb here) whips one out to capture a moment on the red carpet.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good camera

Pros: Very large viewscreen. The scroll wheel is very convenient for both sorting through pictures as well as through menus. Macro mode works like a charm. All controls are very simple and easy to use. It's very easy to switch back and forth between picture-taking and picture-viewing mode. Videos have turned out well so far - obviously not amazing quality on the videos. Photos are crisp and clear! Will make you feel like a professional photographer!

Cons: It requires some patience to take a good macro in focus - but thats nearly every camera.

Other Thoughts: As long as you read the manual for this camera and know all the special options for it, you will love it!

5 out of 5 eggsGood company

Pros: Great resolution and a massive display. This has GREAT picture quality for an "ultra compact" digital camera. Video quality is very good too. Built in WiFi so no wires are needed and you don't have to take your card out. Cool features like a calendar that shows which day and time each picture was taken.
Overall great product at an awesome price!

Cons: WiFi is not that easy to setup.

Other Thoughts: The price when I wrote this review was $70 less than the MSRP. Couple this with a 1GB or 2GB card from newegg and your set.
