The CoolPix S550 is an ideal choice for capturing every day life, vacations, and sporting events. The 10MP sensor ensures that you get gorgeous prints, even when you crop or enlarge. The S550 sports a 5X optical zoom NIKKOR lens which gives you the freedom to zoom in for tight personal portraits or out to capture expansive outdoor scenes.
Image stabilization technology detects and corrects for camera movement to give you rock-steady results time after time. The S550 has 15 pre-programmed Scene Modes to let you capture perfect shots in a variety of conditions, effortlessly. The exposure ranges up to ISO 2000, so even in poor lighting conditions, you get a quality shot.

Very nice point a shoot
- Pros: Really wonderful for waht is meant to do. Very high quality pics when in higer modes ISO functionality, AUTO Smile pics (see other thoughts) more modes than most will need
- Cons: Not as quick as my D60 but not meant to be either. It would have been nice for a SD card to be included and some lcd protectors.
- Other Thoughts: Will take a pic (while in smile mode) without any input from holder. This freaked me out while practicing before giving it to my wife, who will be the primary user.
