4 out of 5 eggsI guess I'll keep it

Pros: The D300 is very nice, as I said before. Very low noise at high ISO and very fast focusing.

Cons: The D300 does not work with all batteries. After research online I found that the D300 it temperamental with battery that came with my D300 didn't work, but my 2 year old battery from my D70 did work.

Other Thoughts: Before you order a D300, make sure you understand the battery issues.

1 out of 5 eggsBattery does not work at all

Pros: If I supply my own battery from my D70, the D300 works OK.

Cons: The battery that came with the D300 does not work at all. I charged it 3 times for more than 12 hours in two different chargers and it does not work.

When I tried the battery from my D70, the D300 worked fine.

Other Thoughts: If I can't figure out how to get someone to send me a new battery, I may have to return the entire package just to get a new battery.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Camera, Great Price

Pros: Great build quality and ergonomics, refurbished camera looks like new, great image quality, excellent metering and focus system, fast maximum framerate. All-around great, pro-level camera.

Cons: A bit on the heavy side and larger than my D70.

Other Thoughts: This camera is a tremendous upgrade over my old Nikon D70. The 3" LCD is amazing and the camera does a much better job of metering most shots without any exposure compensation. Histogram is full-color compared to the D70.
