  • newegg Powerful portability The COOLPIX S9100 is loaded with innovative Nikon technology, like a 12.1-megapixel CMOS sensor and ISO speeds up to 3200 that assure superb image quality in low-light conditions. Optimized with Nikon's exclusive EXPEED C2 processing engine, you'll capture natural looking pictures with exceptional detail. You'll love composing and viewing images and HD videos on the dazzling 921,000-dot, ultra-high resolution Clear Color Display, and at just 1.4 inches thin and 7.6 ounces, you can take the COOLPIX S9100 on every adventure.
  • newegg 18x wide-angle zoom Producing precision camera optics is at the heart of Nikon's proud photographic heritage. The COOLPIX S9100 is no exception. It's the only lens you'll ever need for exacting portraits, scenic panoramas and challenging compositions. Choose one of 19 Scene Modes or let Scene Auto Selector choose the ideal mode for your situation. Nikon's amazing Easy Panorama mode lets you pan the camera in any direction as it automatically detects, combines and assembles your shots into one seamless panoramic image. And say goodbye to post-shot processing—the COOLPIX S9100 is loaded with in-camera special effects like Nostalgic Sepia, Selective Color, High and Low Key and many more.
  • newegg One-touch Full HD (1080p) movies Sharing your travel adventures is even more exciting with Full HD (1080p) movies. With one touch of the COOLPIX S9100's movie recording button, you'll be shooting 1080p HD movies with stereo sound. Optical zoom and autofocus functions will bring you close to the action. You can even shoot still images while recording movies or experiment with special effects like fast or slow motion. And the in-camera playback feature and convenient HDMI-CEC output for quick hookup to an HDTV or computer make sharing your movies a breeze.
  • newegg Remarkable low-light shooting With its high ISO speeds up to 3200 and shooting modes like Night Landscape and Night Portrait, the COOLPIX S9100 lets you take brilliant handheld night and low-light shots you've never considered before.
  • newegg Strength in numbers You'll love Nikon's Best Shot Selector, which automatically takes up to ten shots with a single press of the shutter and then selects and saves only the sharpest one.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Shoot fast pictures

Cons: Had trouble in video mode switching from light to dark, it would be either a washout or compelte brightness. Also had a shadow of a circle in the middle.

Other Thoughts: Took a chance on a recommendation on buying Nikon, won't do that again.

1 out of 5 eggsLemon - recall in order

Pros: 18X Zoom
3" LCD

Cons: Blurry pictures
Poor Autofocus
Poor Lens quality

Other Thoughts: I purchased 3 months ago and wished i wouldnt have. From day one, blurry pics, poor autofocus, loud grinding noise from lens when autofocusing. Sent in to Nikon for repair and then after 1 month all my pics exhibited white circle on all pics.

This camera should have been recalled.

2 out of 5 eggs1080p video, but weak Image Stabilization

Pros: Very Nice resolution view screen(The best I've ever owned). Nice Optical zoom for a small point and shoot. 1080p video also a big plus.

Cons: Image Stabilization is not very good at all. The physical lens Image Stabilization in my 3 year old Canon is much easier to take clear pictures with.

Other Thoughts: Unfortuanately, I dropped this camera into the middle of the Lake of the Woods on a fishing trip about a week after I bought it; only got to keep about 60 pictures. My 32GB card went with it :(

1 out of 5 eggsVery Irritating

Pros: Takes fantastic pictures when its working. Very fast shoot times. Video is above par as well.

Cons: It has broken and is being sent back to Nikon for repair already after only 6 weeks time. This camera has been very disappointing.

Other Thoughts: Bought this for my wife for a birthday present in June, by our vacation in July it was broken already. I did everything Nikon suggested, its being RMA'd to them now, another 3 weeks my wife wont have it. She barely got to use it.
I thought I was buying the best quality when I was buying the Nikon name. Apparently I was incorrect in my assumption.

Try a different model from Nikon if you are sold on Nikon cameras.

5 out of 5 eggsNikon S9100

Pros: I have a Nikon DSLR, but I needed something portable to have in my pocket. I have tried other point-and-shoots, but none of them compared to the S9100 in photo quality and video quality. I didn't bother with the software because I use Photoshop. The zoom is great for a camera this small. The display has twice the pixels of most point-and-shoots and is stunning!

Cons: Some photos taken with the automatic setting are a little over exposed.

Other Thoughts: Best camera I have seen for keeping in your pocket.

5 out of 5 eggsCamera is WELL worth the price

Pros: -Great size, for the zoom and quality you are getting, the size is very good, able to fit snugly in a pocket (I bought a camera travel satchel)
-The video quality is very, very good for a point and shoot camera. I had a Flip video HD before this, and now I am putting it up for sale because the HD video on this S9100 is great
-Picture quality is great for average shooters
- The zoom is amazing compared to any point and shoot I have used.

Cons: - The picture quality isn't so great for photophiles. Is that a word? oh well u get what I mean.
-Bundled software is a little hard to figure out, I dont bother with it and just edit them all with photoshop.

Other Thoughts: For the price, if you are looking for an all-in-one picture/video device, I would seriously give this one a try. It takes great pictures, the low light quality is VERY good. U must have steady hand in low light but thats with every PnS camera. The video IMO is where this thing really shines, and for that, you are basically getting two devices for the price of one.
