1 out of 5 eggsLeaks

Pros: Takes ok pictures, never got to try it underwater.....

Cons: Leaked and broke the first time I took into the ocean. The one thing I looked forward to the most on my trip to the caymans was snorkeling.

Other Thoughts: Maybe I just got a bad one who knows, but this really put a downer on my trip...

5 out of 5 eggsNikon ftw

Pros: Looks awesome. feels solid. quality built. GPS is by default on the 1 touch action button. The auto mode takes great pictures at the highest setting the photos are around 3.3MB. Very easy to use, intuitive.

Cons: Without running the flash as a full time light in my low lit apt at night the 1080p video appears to be grainy.
You give up convenience due to it being waterproof like the usb/battery/sd card is all under one door.

Other Thoughts: Some people said the GPS function was hard to find - not true its on the 1 touch action button by default.
someone said the buttons were hard to press - I didnt find that as the case with mine, easy enough to press maybe a 1lb push according to my calibrated trigger finger.

Go ahead and pick up the screen protectors and maybe a case to put it in.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Point and Shoot

Pros: Waterproof, shock proof, GPS tagging of Pictures, rugged design

Cons: Very basic GPS, short battery life

Other Thoughts: I purchased this camera as a high school graduation gift for my younger brother as him, myself, and my sister were going on a Southern Pacific trip later in the summer. The Camera came, and we brought it. It was a blast taking under water pictures while scuba diving off the coral reefs of Fiji, being able to see where the pictures were taken via the GPS tagging was a cool benefit... It is VERY basic and not very helpful, but it gives a general idea of where you are which is the neat thing. If we ever got lost hiking, and took pictures along the way, as long as we had GPS signal I'm assuming if we zoomed in far enough we would be able to know the general direction to return. Regardless, my little brother is now loving the camera in college and I am very glad I made the purchase.

1 out of 5 eggsStopped working after 2 months

Pros: Pictures are sharp and have bright colors.

Cons: The camera stopped working after 2 months. It wouldn't turn on anymore. Missed 2/3 of my trip. Ended up having buy a new camera abroad.

The extended warranty is a ripoff. I bought a 1 year replacement warranty.. When I called, I said the camera wouldn't turn on anymore. They said it is a malfunction and they don't cover that.. they told me to contact the manufacturer.

Other Thoughts: - The menu to enable the GPS is very hard to find. It's not available through by clicking the menu button directly. You have to first open the map view and then press the menu button again.
- Haven't tried the waterproof feature.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome camera!

Pros: Camera has a good battery life for photos but drains faster than I would like after taking a few videos. It goes for about 8 hours of continuous use taking about 4 minutes worth of video. The camera survived a trip to the Bahamas, snorkeling in the ocean, the resort pool, and kayaking in mangroves. The functionality is great or the price and the easy auto actually works pretty well.

Cons: Battery life could be better.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Pocket Camera I've Ever Owned

Pros: Excellent picture quality, focus and battery life on still images. Very durable with neck strap that's much handier than a wrist strap. Takes beautiful underwater stills and video.

Cons: Video eats battery life up, but that's not really unexpected. In fact, I ordered 2 extra off-brand batteries for that reason & I'm set for anything.

Other Thoughts: Reviews around the web criticize the GPS for not being detailed, but that's only the display. If you go on a trip I certainly hope you know where you are & aren't relying on a CAMERA to tell you! The point of the GPS is to record your location in the image file for later reference NOT to guide your way!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very sturdy camera. Easy to use. Takes excellent photographs.

Cons: The GPS feature doesn't seem to have much utility. I have had a difficult time picking up enough satellites to position myself and when it does the map view is VERY basic. No detail but more importantly poor labeling on roads. If I was going somewhere that I needed GPS, I would not take this with me.

Other Thoughts: It would be nice if instead of a very undetailed map of the entire world, I could upload detailed maps of the region I was in.

I did buy a camera though for the camera and it is a 5 egg product. But I have deducted one for the GPS. Way under developed.
