This review is from: Nikon D600 24.3 MP CMOS FX-Format Digital SLR Camera with 24-85mm VR Lens Kit
Pros: FULL FRAME - need I say more. Moving from Canon is taking a bit used to such as mounting the lenses and zooming seem backwards. I was surprised the body is so much smaller and lighter than my Canon 7D. I expected more of a wow factor going from cropped sensor to full frame but don't see it however I am impressed with this cameras results. I bought the kit which included the 24-85 zoom but also picked up a 50mm prime and I am glad I got the kit as the kit zoom is nicer than expected. The focusing accuracy compared to Canon is amazing. I considered the forthcoming entry level full frame from Canon however the on board flash of the d600 was the deal breaker there and I am so glad because the on board flash of this Nikon is definitely under rated - it comes through and makes such a difference even for daylight people photos. The low light ability of this product is also another huge success, blows away the 7D. ISO 1600 on the D600 looks as well as ISO 100 on the 7D.
Cons: Focus points are located mostly near the center of the frame, they should have spread them out a bit further.
Other Thoughts: I am glad I ordered this on NewEgg when it first became available as it seems to now sell out every time they get any. I sold my Canon 7D and all my Canon lenses including the "L" lenses to get to full frame with Nikon.
