5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mid-level DSLR

This review is from: Nikon D5200 1503 Black 24.1 MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm VR Lens Kit

Pros: Solid feel, great construction. A multitude of options and settings. More than enough features and quality for the beginner and or amateur photographer.

Cons: 5 fps on burst but is this really a huge deal to most people, nope. Not weatherproof.

Other Thoughts: This camera has everything I need and more. Would definitely recommend this someone looking into learning photography!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat first DSLR!

This review is from: Nikon D5200 1503 Black 24.1 MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm VR Lens Kit

Pros: I'm a fan of my D5200. It takes great pics. I was interested in taking night sky photos and the D5200 and the D3200 have very high test ratings for low light, so this Nikon was an obvious choice over other brands. And 39 autofocus points is a plus, too. Battery life isn't bad either.

Cons: Menus are less intuitive than other brands, but not also not too difficult to navigate.

Other Thoughts: Very good starter DSLR. While the D3200 is the entry level, if you know you're getting serious about photography, the D5200 is an excellent choice. Great feature offering that doesn't hold you back from growing from beginner to intermediate or advanced to professional photography.

Figure out what you want to do by playing around with the kit lens and then start purchasing other lenses to meet your specific needs as necessary. Like I said, the D5200 offers plenty of room for growth. You'll like what it has to offer. Cheers!

5 out of 5 eggsLOVE

This review is from: Nikon D5200 1503 Black 24.1 MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm VR Lens Kit

Pros: Light weight, manual mode controls are easy to remember, great quality

Cons: 18-55 lens is an ok lens to start with, but not fabulous. Flash button is awkwardly placed.

Other Thoughts: Love this camera. I constantly get comments on how great it is. My friend (a Canon user) used it the other day, and couldn't get over how much better it was than her Canon.
