5 out of 5 eggsFirst DSLR

Pros: Working with a JVC Pro HD video camera for work all day I needed something to capture all of these events for myself plus a little fun on the side.

This camera offers all of the fun features like color selection and miniature mode that folks always seem to want but the main thing I enjoy is the sheer speed and clarity.

The autofocus with the kit lens is pretty dang amazing but you can always go with a manual focus if you want more control.

The sky is the limit on your creativity to just experiment and have fun.

Cons: The menu options and being able to change everything does take some getting used to but it's only a matter of time until you master it.

Video recording picks up on the noise from zooming, didn't hear any focusing servo noise, just zooming in and out.

The strap it comes with is a little short, but that's why you can put on a different one.

Other Thoughts: It's a fun investment in memory saving and money saving by buying refurbished. The 90 day warranty is a little short for my likes but the camera is perfectly fine, no scratches, no dents, no dings. The lens is great, the battery charged perfectly. Nikon makes a solid and professional product, after being torn between Nikon and Canon I asked some of the guys that work for our newspaper and they use and swear by Nikon and now I do too.
