4 out of 5 eggsGreat light cheap camera

Pros: light, high res, decent optics, just works great as a carry along for backpacking trips

Cons: Really needs lithium batteries, that said, I got 735 pictures out of one set of Energizer ultimates, so that's not bad at all. The screen anti glare and frame paint wear off/ scratch from just sitting in the pocket, and hiking 4 hours a day which is a bit of a pain.

Other Thoughts: Bought this for taking on hiking trips and am not disappointed. it is small lightweight and uses regular AA lithium batteries. On the trail for 10 days got 730 pictures and they are good. The random failure with alkaline, ie shows battery is good but locks up is definitely a short coming, but since weight and size were my primary criteria I was in lithium anyway. The fact that the screen scratches so easily is a bit of a downer, but it did what I wanted at a great price $56.

1 out of 5 eggsgeSlightly less than what you pay for.

Pros: SDHC (I've only tried up to 8gb), video, compact

Cons: Comes with Alkaline batteries but is very unreliable when using them. I've tried Duracell and Kirkland (Costco)batteries, both have the same problems; the camera just shuts off randomly requiring you to change the mode and turn it off and back on again. I called HP and spoke with a tech who said all my problems would go away if I just fed it lithium batteries; at ten times the cost in a cheap camera I don't think that so - that is like a cheap car that only runs on fine wine.

My wife HATES this camera because there is always a delay when you try to take a picture, sometimes it is the better part of a second. She does know how to press the button half way to make it focus but it still hesitates. With the flash on it is worse, and if you just grab it and click the button ...don't bother, by the time the flash charges up and the camera gets focused your kid doing something cute has already grown up and left for college.

Video files are HUGE for the quality

Other Thoughts: If you plan to use rechargeable batteries this might be a decent camera for the money but I certainly would recommend spending a little more for a better product.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for the money

Pros: Cheap. Lots of features. Good picture quality. Can't beat the price.

Cons: My first one was defective. Needs strong batteries to operate. Don't try cheap alkalines otherwise may not turn on.

3 out of 5 eggsHP CW450a 12.1mp camera review

Pros: Small camera, easy to transport, and nice feature set. I gave this as a Christmas present to my son before our grandson was born on 1/1/11.
Camera has easy controls once someone not familiar with HP menus gets used to it. Seems to take good to very good pictures so far.

Cons: I have recently heard, that it now sometimes needs to have the batteries removed to power on or do anything, and it's only 2 months old. Yes, have swapped with new batteries. Will test with rechargeable batteries to see if it makes a difference. Other than that, it seems to be working fine

Other Thoughts: Cheap camera, and no I wasn't expecting results like a $1k Canon T2i. Works, but there may be other cameras in the similar or slightly more $ range that are better and less troublesome. Previous cheap Kodak cameras lasted longer before having issues.

2 out of 5 eggsBe Aware!

Pros: Simple to use, especially for those who do not need special functions, touch screen, or a non-simple structure. Batteries for easy change... Cheap... but... (This was for a present, and father's not a techy so this would have been great.)

Cons: It stops turning on after a while, and you have to switch the mode to turn it on. First I thought it was a defect, so I returned to newegg. I paid for shipping and got a replacement. The second one had same problem, then failed to read sd card, and also came with red pixel. Now I am paying for refund. So with all the savings from buying this cheap camera, I just paid it as thought it was not on sale. This should not be advertised the way it is. The HP tech said to use lithium batteries instead, but it comes with alkaline. I am not going to try lithium batteries for such a fail digital camera. Stay away from this, unless you have lithium batteries or want to even try for it.

Other Thoughts: I'm not going just give one star for no reason. So I gave it 2.

I think this product would have been great without such stupidity. HP tech said if I returned it with them the first time, I would not need to pay for the return shipping. Since I already went to do it with Newegg, I cannot have free return shipping to HP. Is there any sense to that? (Random Thought) I use to like HP for their ease of Printers too, but not anymore... well on XP that is. Win 7 saved them from having to install their software that runs over an hour... Although the HP mini are still nice...

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Small and light. Lots of scene modes for almost every condition if you look through the menu. My first one was DOA but Newegg paid to ship it back and promptly sent a new one. I'm giving this 4 stars because of the price. Good pics with image stabilization, lots of features for around $60. Good deal.

Cons: Battery life could be better but it's a backup camera for the car.

1 out of 5 eggsGood for 3 months

Pros: When it worked, it took reasonable, but not great snapshots. There was a little color fringing, or smear on sharp edges, but tolerable given the low price ($70). I purchased this for my wife because she keeps dropping cameras and I simply didn't want to pay for yet another Canon for her to break. Also, she likes the AA-battery capability. I really liked some of the scene capabilities, especially the Auction mode (multiple pictures in a picture). The smile feature and many others are quite impressive. This camera is no Canon and is not priced as such, but good for a basic pocket snapshot camera. For me, I ONLY buy Canon cameras - they are the best - period!

Cons: Broke three months after purchase, even though it had seen very little use. Something went in the power circuitry. It will not power on at all with fresh carbon batteries; works for about ten minutes with freshly charged Ni-MH rechargeable or Alcaline batteries, then it says "replace dead battery".

Other Thoughts: NewEgg's warranty is only for 30-days. HP's literature states that it has a limited one-year warranty. Today (Sunday), I contacted HP (India, I think, based upon the accent), but all they wanted to do was sell me a new HP camera, When I insisted that the 1-year warranty be honored, they simply gave me another (mon-to-Fri) telephone number to call. I'll see what they say on Monday. If they don't exchange this junk I'll be compelled to avoid all HP products in the future, as a matter of principle.

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Good zoom, fantastic picture quality, really easy to use and understand.

Cons: Randomly turns off when I'm taking a picture, but I think I just need better quality batteries.

Other Thoughts: I'm so glad that my boyfriend bought me this camera for my birthday.

Pros: Nice camera does what it's supposed to for the price. No type of problems whatsoever.

Cons: NO CONS!

Other Thoughts: Worth it for under $70. Don't know why there are so many negative reviews on it. They must have had bad luck :D
