5 out of 5 eggs

Comments: I got this camera before Christmas for my wife and I and we love it. She is not the best with technology normally, but after showing her how it works for less than 5 minutes, she was able to take great shots with out a problem. I got a Lexar 80x 512 Meg card, from newegg or course, and its smoking fast. This thing takes great pics in high res at a blistering pace. If you are considering getting a point and shoot camera, don't bother, it will not hold its value down the line and most, if not all, have no available lens upgrades. The D Rebel can use tons of the EOS lenses, so you can be assured it won't let you down whatever situation you are in. Bottom line this thing is the best bang for the buck and will be for a long time I reckon. Buy with confidence. Big w00t to newegg!

Comments: I am a amateur photographer at best and have used this camera now for about 12 months and am very impressed. I was a bit worried that I had paid too much for it until I started using it. It is well worth the money; interchangeable lenses, quick shutter response, adjustable shutter speed and aperature makes it very versitile body for the amateur photographer.

5 out of 5 eggsProfessional Photographer

Comments: I am a professional photographer and I use the 300D (digital rebel) as my primary camera. It is a fabulous camera, I truly reccomend it to anyone. I own Canon's best L series lenses and they produce some outstanding photos with this body. Buy the battery grip and a second battery, it is the one necessary accessory! My only gripe about this camera is it has a tiny shot buffer, if you are looking for a sports camera, look at the Nikon D70 or Canon 20D. However, at this price point for a professional camera, the Rebel is very hard to overlook.

5 out of 5 eggs

Comments: I purchased this last week, and am extremely pleased with the results. I already own a Canon SLR body with several different medium quality canon lenses and they all work great.

There are some problems with non-canon lenses, but I'm not affected by those. The CMOS imaging senor in this, while considered "inferior" to CCD technology is actually far superior to most CCD chips out there. The large sensor results in almost no noise in pictures taken with a low ISO setting, and even at 1600 ISO the noise is managable.

Despite having a plasticy look, the camera is very stury, and with battery & lens is great. The camera will do four frames in a second, before starting to write to the CF card. This makes taking shots at one per second for extended periods not a concern. Coupled with a high speed (I got the lexar 45x from newegg) CF card it's blazing fast. Since getting the camera I've shot over 1500 frames, all coming out great.

There are some features missing that are available on the D10, but there are so many features using the creative shooting modes that all but advanced photgraphers will have plenty of control over the camera for a long time.

I use this camera to print directly to an Epson rx600 and the prints are stunning up to 8x10. To see what it was capable of, I had some good shots printed at 11x14 and then again at 16x20. The 11x14 shots came out EXTREMELY well, still looking as good as genuine photo quality, although by the numbers, it starts to fall short. The 16x20 image is acceptable, but not as clear as I would like it to be. For any print 11x14 and smaller this is an excellent camera. Good shots, taken on 100ISO, come out VERY clean. Excellent camera for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsNever miss a moment...

Comments: This camera is great for amateurs like me. It isn't the fastest camera available for less than xxxxxxx, but it's fast enough to take fabulous photos of my daughter. She's very fussy and can't stay still for more than half a sec. I take pictures of her one right after another. I keep the good shots and <font>d</font>elete the bad ones. Then, I start over, just clicking away. I never miss a moment.

The bad...doesn't come bundled with a Coach Carrying Case.

5 out of 5 eggs

Comments: Got this camera from Newegg last week (earlier than expected - Thanks!), and I absolutely love it. My previous camera was a Sony DSC-S70. This is the perfect camera for someone who has outgrown their point-and-shoot, and is ready for an SLR. The controls are quick to pick up and the learning curve is just steep enough to get you enthusiastic about taking pictures again. The automatic zone options provide great results and there is plenty of room to take more control of your shots in the creative zone. I also purchased a Transcend 1 gig CF card that is fantastic - very fast write speeds. The D-Rebel is a fantastic camera. Thanks Newegg!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat camera, with great versatility

Comments: This camera is outstanding for a price/performance ratio. Don't be fooled into the megapixel war because you'll really not see any difference between 6.3 and 8 megapixels. The picture quality is outstanding (you can easily get great quality 8x10s from this). I've really enjoyed the versatility of being able to use different lenses to meet my needs and it has really opened the door to much better photography. I've been so pleased with this camera! Obviosuly, you'll want to consider investing more cash into a few other lenses down the road, but the stock 18-55mm lens will certainly suffice for the time. For me, it's been a great investment and has put a lot of great pictures on my wall. Make sure you exploit this camera's "creative" modes, they'll teach you a lot about photography. Definitely a great buy for those looking into a prosumer camera.
