3 out of 5 eggssensor died after 5 and a half years

Pros: Countless features.

Cons: Inconsistent quality, small sensor (limited quality image outcome), sensor died after 5.5 years, meaning no more ability to use this as a still image camera. Oddly enough, video still works.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat camera

Pros: Owned for several years and has been faithful till the end. The perfect camera for the mid range user. The only reason I am buying a new one now is to start doing so more semi-pro work on the side and need a more powerful camera.

Cons: Absolutely none!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: Feels like a real camera, great hand fit, excellent photo quality, fantastic zoom!! all in all a very well built camera, love the screen which can be moved at any angles to get shots most can only dream of, High shots and low shots are easy with this movable screen.
Also has viewfinder lens so you can save power by closing the larger screen, shoots fast and also has a manual mode like an SLR does.

Cons: Flash is slow to recharge, mine takes up to 20 seconds!! Get yourself another flash to fit the shoe.

Other Thoughts: Would have been nice if cannon supplied a larger SD card, 32 Mb is small and will hold about 10 pictures at high res.
I got mine with the package on Newegg, SD card and case, both are great, the camera fits nice into the case.
Some have moaned about the lens cap falling off, it is meant to do that so it does not damage the lens motor when you turn it on.
You got to buy this camera!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent buy, no problems here.

Pros: Excellent camera at a hard to beat Newegg price! Very fast multiple shots. Fast auto focus. About two seconds from power-up to shooting the first frame (this is actually where the loose fitting lens cap is a plus as it pops off on power-up). Doesn't use proprietary batteries. Rechargeable NiMH AA's last for many hours. Videos are awesome! Stills are sharp. Excellent white balance. With an otional adapter, you can add standard 58mm filters. Super macro mode focuses to less than 1 inch. Enough techie features for the pro and yet simple to use for novices. Good grip and most features are within reach of your thumb or index finger. Bright sharp display, even in full sun.

The memory card is under the battery cover for a good reason! This ensures that the power is off before removing or inserting the card preventing data corruption. And unlike a previous review, you don't need tweezers. Push the card in until it clicks and then it pops up for easy removal.

Cons: Lens cap falls off easily, but this comes in handy when speed is important. Grab the camera, turn it on and shoot. Forget the lens cap.. it will pop out of the way instantly. No harm done. Suffers from "feature overload", but thankfully, most of the features are very useful and a few aren't useful at all. No other cons.

Other Thoughts: The LCD display isn't difficult at all to unfold. This camera gets my "biggest bang for the buck" award. And once again, Newegg gets my praise for an excellent price, excellent service and fast delivery. Newegg rocks!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Camera!

Pros: This camera takes great photos and has a ton of features that I'm still discovering as I use it. Some folks have dogged the macro feature, but I think it works great. Video is also very good quality for the price and form factor. Rechargeable batteries work great and last longer than I expected.

Cons: Flash doesn't automatically pop up, so you have to do it on your own. This is somewhat of a pro, since it keeps you in control. Still, on auto, it would be nice if it popped up by itself. The camera is almost as big as an SLR, so I can't pop it in my pocket like my Elph.

Other Thoughts: The speed of this camera is improved if you go ahead and get a SDHC card. If you feel like tinkering, the CHDK firmware is a ton of fun and works great on this camera.

1 out of 5 eggsFlash broke after almost immediately

Pros: I don't have any pros because the flash broke almost directly out of the box.

Cons: I purchased this camera for a specific indoor, out of town event and prior to the event, I made sure everything worked and it was fine. While at the event, after taking one photo, the flash broke. Now I have to ship it, at my expense to have it fixed by Canon. Needless to say, I cannot recommend this camera.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good camera

Pros: I'm an amature at best when it comes to photography. This camera is my first non pocket sized camera. The zoom is great. Video is very good, 640 x 480 @ 30 fps and stereo sound. Macro mode is cool especially for insect pics. Battery life is incredible, I've used camera's with Li Ion batteries and they all needed to be recharched 60 to 120 photos, with the camera being turned on and off frequently I guess thats not good to do). I'm using this cam with NiMH rechargables and I take roughly 500 pics + 20 videos on each battery charge. Most of my photo sessions are about 25 - 40 photos and 1 or 2 vids. Takes SD memory.

Cons: Bigger sized then smaller point & shoot cams. Don't like how you have to open the battery compartment to access the SD card.

3 out of 5 eggsOK, but there are problems

Pros: Color and print quality are very nice, the instant movie mode button feature is nice, LCD screen is bright and clear even in sunlight, Auto focus is fast for non-SLR.
Lots of settings and menus are well designed.

Cons: IMPORTANT!!! Now I will list for you the things about this camera which are very annoying:
The memory card slot is in the same slide door as the 4 AA batteries. You must open the battery door to access the card. After that you will be cursing the Devil when you can't get the flash card out because your fingers are not built like tiny tweezers. What a huge deal breaker.

Next: the lens cap is designed just as bad. It is so flimsy and pops off at the slightest touch. The LCD door that swings out is also built for tweezer fingers which makes unfolding it a job even for my wifes long nails.

Other Thoughts: It's a shame because performance wise it's a darn good camera at a great price. Unfortunatly the above poor design issues keep this camera in the average catagory.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Camera, Great Price

Pros: Excellent quality images, feature rich and easy to use

Cons: Only thing I can complain about has been addressed by quite a few others and that is the ease at which the lens cap will pop off.

Other Thoughts: Great camera for the price, I upgraded from an Olympus D450 Zoom point and shoot and am completely satisfied, NewEgg comes through again.

3 out of 5 eggswrong size

Pros: The camera is great.

Cons: The case that came with it is for a pocket size camera. No way will this large camera fit in this little case. NewEgg is the best but I think they dropped the ball on this one. Also the day after I received the camera it went on sale. lenz cap falls off easily.
