Wow.
- Pros: +Good picture
+Fast turn on speed
+Fast read/write speeds
+Nice, fancy looking viewing screens
+good battery life
+Fast battery charge time (like 1.3 hours or so for initial charge)
+You can assign things to an unused button on the camera
+LOTS of image editing options and stuff. It'll take me a while to figure out everything I can do with this device.
+You can delete parts of videos, which I have never been able to do before on old cameras. Saves space when you only want 10 sec. of that minute long video.
+You can use the digital zoom while taking a video, which is better than I've had with other cameras.
+Is small and seems rather damage-resistant.
- Cons: Not too many things I don't like:
-It's not like a Sony or Kodak, where you just press on the shutter button while in image view mode and you return to the camera mode instantly. You use a switch to change between Still Image mode, Video mode, and View mode (although you can set video mode to the programmable button). Just something I'll have to get used to. I think most Canons are like this.
-Can't use optical zoom or focus while recording video. In fact, you can only use the digital zoom feature while in "standard" mode for video. I still find this odd.
Can't complain too much. Just little things I need to get used to.
- Other Thoughts: I bought this camera to take with me on an exchange year to Germany. I needed something small, able to take a beating, and good picture and battery life. This seems to fill all of those things.
I bought it with Dolica's 4-in-1 Nb4L kit, which had an extra battery, mini tripod, screen cloth, screen protector, and case. Good combo, in my opinion.
It should also be noted that for some reason I was unable to use this camera with a 4GB Transcend SDHC card. The camera works fine with two other SDHC cards, but not this one. I received it from a friend who mistakenly thought that it would work in one of his regular SD devices, so that might be a problem. Unfortunately I do not have a standard size SDHC card reader for my computer or any other device (I only have a microSDHC reader), so I can't attempt to format it or try to fix it. I think I just have a bad card, though.
Nice camera, good deal. Newegg shipped fast as well, 2 days without rush processing.
Excellent Camaera
- Pros: Small, easy to use and has some great manaul adjustments compared to lastyears SD1000. Takes awesome pictures and its extremely small. One of the best point and shoot camera's on the market. Hats off the newegg again for 1 day shipping, ordered 1:00pm Monday on door step 1:00pm Tuesday.
- Cons: Battery life only around 200 pictures per charge,(get an extra battery) Windows driver install a little difficult compared to Olympus Stylus but not to bad.
- Other Thoughts: Get the 16GB SDHC new egg item # N82E16820220254 card works great and will give you over 10,000 picture in normal mode and 4,900 in Super high quality. Also over 2 hours or video. As stated before get an addtional battery as it only lasts about 200 pics.

Best camera for the money
- Pros: When it came time to buy my wife a new camera I knew the SD1100 was the way to go. I have owned the SD1000 since it came out and have had ZERO problems with it. These are the best point and shoot cameras on the market. The form factor cannot be beat. The added ability for video is a nice feature.
- Cons: They are still building the flimsy battery doors on these, but I haven't broken my SD1000 door yet, so this one should hold up just fine.
Best Camera for the Money
- Pros: Fantastic camera.
The picture quality is fantastic and I'm still exploring the many options. The automatic slideshow on the TV is pretty cool but I've been out of the digital camera loop for a while now so that may be standard. Great camera.
- Cons: LCD is prone to smudging but that's not such a big deal.
Great camera
- Pros: Great Camera good quality and the stabilizer works well. I have jittery hands and it really stabilizes the picture. I have a whopping 8gb card and that's plenty of pictures and i delete most of them but no worries on taking a bad pic. The video feature works well. Good digital camera.
- Cons: I wish it had a external battery. this has a wall charger but if you take a lot of videos and dont have an outlet, your out of luck when it comes to powering your camera.
- Other Thoughts: Overall great camera and i would recommended for any amateur photographer who just wants to take family pictures or whatnot.
