A little bulkier than the sd1000
- Pros: This camera is a more stylish slightly (very slightly) beefier version of the sd1000. It has great image quality and is small enough to carry around. The macro is fine but needs a lot of light to avoid getting the camera shake icon.
I use either a small tripod or set the camera on a stable surface and use a timed exposure so that the camera has time to stop shaking.
- Cons: The SD Card that comes with the camera is laughable... almost insulting at 32mb. One would think Canon could at least put a 1GB card with the camera
There is no "remote" operation. It would be fantastic if you could trigger the shutter remotely , but I guess that is why they have other models that do do this.
The design is needlessly curvy. I bought this camera to upgrade my SD1000 (slightly) and give my SD1000 to my daughter. Well the extra sheet metal on the camera annoys me so I probably will give this new one to my daughter.
- Other Thoughts: You can NEVER go wrong with a Canon Camera. I have played with a lot of point and shoot and their face recognition software is great. I also like the ability they give the end user to adjust stuff like exposure and ISO on even a camera like this.
At this point 35mm is dead to me... I just can't see it anymore.
Great
- Pros: Bought this for my girlfriend. I have the SD950. Love the interface. The above reviewer must have gotten a rare defect. I've never had any problems with Cannons. Has a physical viewer for when bright sunlight obscures the screen. Has a accelerometer to rotate the pics when you turn camera. The digital zoom is very nice and sharp surprisingly. This camera has a Widescreen mode my SD950 does not have.
I'm jealous this wasn't out when I got my SD950 because I leave mine on 8mp anyway. I disagree that this is "overly curvy" I also owned the old powershot and the curves make it more comfortable to hold.
- Cons: The 32 meg card that comes with it. Cannon, what the heck were you thinking? For the cost you could at least include a 1 gig SD. Anyway, get an 8 gig or 16. Yes that's thousands of pictures.. but 8 gig means an hour of video. 16 gig =2 hours.
- Other Thoughts: New Egg shipped it lightning fast!

- Pros: Very sleek design, easy functions and set up. We wanted soemthing to throw in our pocket when we head out and this camera is just the thing. Takes outstanding pix in all conditions
- Cons: Have not found any yet.
It does what it is built to do better
- Pros: I buy only Canon now. I love the color and easy of use
- Cons: None yet
Very nice
- Pros: Size matters for point and shoots, and this camera hits the mark. Image quality is very good, and if you have already owned a canon P & S, the menu system is same. The movie mode is actually very usable, very good for small you tube like video. Fairly fast shutter and low lag for this price.
- Cons: None really, you gets what you pays for...
- Other Thoughts: New Egg Shipping rocks, as always! Ordered the camera on Saturday night, had it in my hands Tuesday morning, and that was over Presidents day weekend. Free shipping and no tax cant be beat!
