Too bad I can't give it 0 eggs
- Pros: None that I can find. Broke within 2 days
- Cons: Zoom lens no longer retracts or extends. Made in China, probably in some generic factory near the Mongolian border. Shame on Canon.
This sort of poor quality will eventually catch up with them and permanently tarnish their reputation.

Yes, the American market is "price sensitive", but the bean counters tried to save one penny too much.
I've owned Canon SLR for decades. This product clearly shows that they have lowered their standards to zero.

Broken
- Pros: Price, 10MP, small, excellent ccd/image quality ....
- Cons: 4 months old and "Lens Error, Restart Camera" message following a horrid clicking, grinding sound. The lens mechanism _can_not_ handle average, daily use. Let alone the slightest amount of abuse.
- Other Thoughts: This camera is a complete lemon! I'm finding tons of complaints about the broken lens mechanism. It must be made of the cheapest, high impact plastic on the market. This is the second A4-- series that I have bought and both failed the same way. The first one after a year and now this one after 4 months. Canon _does_not_ list the a480 on their main support section! I had to select the a470, search the term "Lens Error, Restart Camera", select the lens error question, then select "The PowerShot A470 requires service." link, then select "Request a Repair Online", then select the a480 in the "Request Repair Estimate" drop down list! O.M.G!!! Now I have to pay to send it to them... I hope they fix it. Good luck to anyone else going through this...

- Pros: Great camera for the price. If you need one to throw in to the car or one for the kids you dont need to worry about this is great. Also a good entry camera for those that dont need anything special.
