Customer Reviews of the Canon USA PowerShot SD1200 IS
Other Thoughts: This is the 7th point-and-shoot Canon I purchase. I bought this one for my folks since it is easy to use. I also have a SX200, a SD790, and recently bought a Rebel XSi.. Every time I upgrade the quality of the camera decreases. It seems in the effort to cut prices, Canon is obligated to cut corners. My SD790 lens got stuck and is very flimsy. The rebel XT that I had in the past seems of better quality as well, though the technical specs are far inferior than the XSi... This is a good camera for the price though...

Rating: 2/5Step Down from Last Year
Pros: Clean pics for such a compact camera
Cons: Lens is noisy and slow to focus-- not only slower and more noisy than last years model, but the model previous to that as well. All though the layout is somewhat better, Canon has managed to make the already small thumb controls harder to use.
Other Thoughts: I upgraded from the 1100 because the camera was dropped on the lens and it broke. If I were to do it over, I would have looked to see if anyone still had the 1100's in stock. This new model is a disappointment.

Rating: 4/5Pretty decent camera
Pros: takes good pics, i had no problem with low light, however low light is relative. in the backyard right after the sun dropped below the horizon, it took good pics.
Cons: the manual is only a quick start guide, the rest of the manual is on cd. the battery does not charge off USB.
Other Thoughts: dont do what i did and assume that it comes with everything, you need to purchase a memory card before any picture taking is done.

Pros: Bought for my brother's birthday. Has a nice picture. Bland but smooth color. Good for going places and nicer playback.
Cons: As most other camera's of this price and level the zoom could be better.
Other Thoughts: He seems very pleased with the gift.

Rating: 5/5Canon PowerShot SD1200
Pros: Very easy to use; color is very good; automatic setting works very well; great size to slip into your pocket; quality of picture excellent for this size camera.
Cons: Noticeable delay between shots and flash recharge but not really too bad.
Other Thoughts: Have a DSL which is a bit too large to carry around all the time and wanted a real subcompact camera to carry around and took very good pictures. This filled my needs exactly.

Pros: I bought this camera as a wedding gift for my daughter and son-in-law. I own 2 canon digital cameras and love them. Have bought several othe canon cameras for gifts. Camera is palm size. Has a rechargeable battery and charger. I gave it a 5 star rating because of past performance of canon cameras.
Cons: I did not find a media card in the camera or anywhere in the shipping container. I found that odd because all of the other canon cameras that I have purchased have had memory cards of some sort. The camera package looks like it had been opened before being boxed and shipped. Made me wonder if someone removed the memory chip prior to shipment.
Other Thoughts: I thought that I ordered a combo deal that included a case and a 4 gig memory card for the same price. I must have errored in placing the order and failed to hit the right button. At this point, Newegg has denied my request for the combo deal. Likely my mistake. So, if you find special offers, make sure that your order shows them!
