5 out of 5 eggsMy Cannon Power SX1 IS Delivery

Pros: This is one of the few camera out there that is an HD with a Cmos sensor that can be used with Iphoto and Imovie. Most other HD use AVCHD or some other system that requires you to use final cut or a proprietary software.
I have a G10 and the quality of this camera is on par plus stereo speakers, 20X zoom, articulating screen plus the ease of using video the same as the G1O in Imovie and Iphoto. What can I say its a Canon.
Plus the shipping was $2.95 and it arrived in lighting time 21 hours later in Philadelphia. Plus camera was $30 less than Amason.

Cons: • No way to attach filters but I ordered a Janco 58mm Filter Adapter with filters and new 58 mm cap
• No fitted case - than I can find
• Return policy only for exchange of same product 30 days no refund.
Thats better than a 15% restocking fee.

5 out of 5 eggsThank You NewEgg team

Pros: Ordered on Friday and received on Monday. Shipping at the time was $1.99. I could have gotten it cheaper from another vendor and waited 7-9 days. Thanks NewEgg for the exceptional speed of service. Camera was well packaged and arrived at my workplace Monday morning.

Cons: None at this time.

Other Thoughts: Newegg has a simple but excellent business model of fair to competitive prices and super fast fulfillment and delivery. So simple you would think to fulfill an order the same day you get it but even @m@zon can't do this.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent camera

Pros: This camera rocks, the Full HD video is awsome!!
And there are a lot of cool functions, if you like to make nice photos but you are not a pofessional this is the device.

Cons: Sometimes a error message appear when I´m using the zoom, the message is: "Objective lens error, restart the camera", but it´s rare.

3 out of 5 eggsNot too good for low light scenes

Pros: Excellent high quality day-time pictures (as good as entry level DSLR,) very usable zoom range, takes pictures in either std 3:2 or wide 16:9 formats, good quality HD video recordings

Cons: external hot shoe not standard size, hard to focus in dimly lit scenes, picture too noisy for dark scenes due to bump-up ISO. Anything above ISO 200 is ... bad for dark scene, use flash :) mini-HDMI location is too cramp to connect most mini-HDMI cable (I had to cut off some plastic off my mini-HDMI cable connector to fit this cam) - very poor engineering from Canon.

Other Thoughts: Not a replacement for dedicated HD camcorder but a good choice to take quick HD vids in a crunch.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice camera with good quality pictures. The option for the HD video is why I went with this one instead of the SX10 IS.

Cons: Controls take a wile to understand if you have never used an advanced digital camera before. I have only used my parents point and shoot that had maybe 5 options for settings.

Other Thoughts: I probably would not use filters but the camera has to have an adapter to use 58 mm filters.

5 out of 5 eggsIf it fit in my pocket I would bring it everywhere!

Pros: Perfect all-around camera.

Favorite feature is the zoom: I can read tail numbers off airplanes and almost read my neighbor's mail from inside their mailbox!

The flip and tilt screen is perfect for high, low, angled, or self-portrait shots.

Great video quality, great morning, day, and evening photo quality.

Just look at the price!

Cons: Video records in .MOV format which is unfriendly to Windows users.

Difficult to sneak into "camera not allowed" concerts because of its size.

Quality could be better in low light situations but it is still perfect for the price.

Other Thoughts: Brought to Yellowstone National Park for a week and got some fantastic photos of bears, wolves, and all sorts of woodland creatures.

The flip screen is very handy for looking at the underside of your car if there's a leak!

4 out of 5 eggsfast pictures

Pros: video is fine and looks good i suggest NOT to use quicktime to play it back or will be choppy. I use cccp codecs zoom player but you can also use nero showtime - one of these should give better performance. I ran a system monitor when i played them and using quicktime and quicktime loader was in the red. excellent photos in bright conditions and 4 frames per second worked flawlessly - i took 195 photos continuously and not one was blurry.

Cons: low light photos are grainy and blury so use flash indoors and in low light conditions.

4 out of 5 eggsJust took this camera to Disney

Pros: It's light weight, and I like the fold out LCD screen. I own a Canon 50 D and no way could I have lugged that around 4 theme parks and two water parks. The picture quality is amazing and it is a great little camera.

Cons: When shooting video the zoom makes too much noise and can be heard on the video.

3 out of 5 eggsSecond Time Is Charm

Pros: Great color in bright clean light. Nice zoom. High Def Video is beautiful. My fears of jelly effect were unnecessary. It's only a problem if you unnaturally shake back and forth.

Cons: Terrible low light quality. Sometimes I feel like contrast is a little high. Wide angle is nice but does distort the edges a little. H264 HD video is beautiful but you can only do 1080 not 720. 640x480 is available. 1080 video plays choppy even on a respectable PC. My Mac handles it much better but that is expected. I would like to have a 720 option since that is still pretty decent quality. Some jelly effect on video but only if wobbling it around in an abnormal way.

Other Thoughts: First camera came DOA. On first turning it on the lens started coming out then got stuck and never recovered. New Egg took care of me but of course I had to pay RMA shipping and shipping for the new camera which added up. I have an S3 IS that I absolutely love that I'm comparing with. The SX1 IS is very similar so I felt right at home. Zoom is awesum but you need a lot of light or slow shutter will cause blur. Color is great in natural light. Sometimes pictures are contrasty. Overall I think the CMOS sensor suffers from low light quality. Respectable but a bit under what I've been expecting from Canon. Especially with the DOA first camera.
