Customer Reviews of the Canon USA PowerShot SX200 IS
Pros: Camera is the best point and shoot i have ever owned. I have owned three P&S, and by far this is the best. The optical zoom is AMAZING. The 720P HD movie quality is amazing. The problem with the flash popping up is not a problem at all. It isn't even in the way. I was skeptical about people saying there is no zoom while recording a movie. They are WRONG. True, there is no OPTICAL zoom, but there surely is digital zoom, and there is NO problem with that. The digital zoom is VERY adequate. If you want a better camera for videos, go buy a camcorder. This camera is for pictures. The pictures are EXCELLENT!!! There are a LOT of features on this camera, and I have yet to learn all of them.
Cons: The only down side i could say is that the black is more of a dark, dark brown. I wanted a black one, but opted for the blue one, which is VERY nice.
Other Thoughts: Best camera with the best optical zoom, and picture quality

Pros: This camera is the best point and shoot on the market! I read all the reviews from several sites and I must say this camera is far underrated. Most reviews mention the flash popping up but it does not matter at all so let's get over it! I looked at several models in this price range and chose the Canon. 1) Because it's Canon and 2) Manual override. I bought this for my wife who is a serious amateur photographer and she loves it!! She's tried every setting, snapping dozens of pictures and is shocked at the quality. In some ways it's better than her Rebel XTi for ease of use.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Here are some features that don't get mentioned: Macro setting, super macro setting (wow), zoom beyond 12x in manual mode (up to 48x?), black & white, and on and on.....
If you want a great camera that you can point and shoot or you love to play with manual settings this camera is for you. I highly recommend buying.

Rating: 5/5Awesome!
Pros: Great resolution, good quality photos, although still not as good as an SLR, but not expected to be. Video is excellent for this kind of product. This is as good a point and shoot as you are going to find.
Cons: a bit pricey

Pros: 12x zoom lens, Auto and Manual controls.
Cons: Non yet.
Other Thoughts: I absolutely love this camera. I originally started out looking at cheaper cameras. I knew I wanted more than 3x zoom and that's how I found this one. After researching it on the internet and viewing sample pics from this camera I decided it was better to spend a little more than to wish I had late. I highly recommend this purchase.

Pros: Great resolution, 12X Optical Zoom, Hi-def recording, widescreen lens, manual control, big bright LCD, and it fits in your pocket.
Cons: No raw or tiff mode, mov movie format, proprietary battery.
Other Thoughts: I took this camera up to the Sequioa's and took gorgeous pictures in all sorts of light conditions. They all came out wonderfully. I also took several lengthy video clips. Battery still had plenty of charge after over 100 pictures and 4 or 5 videos. If you want a good solid camera with video capability and more options than you know what to do with, this camera is for you.

Rating: 5/5Great camera
Pros: The zoom lens is incredible, just make sure you have enough light. If you shoot outside, you won't be disappointed. Saturated colors and quick response time with no noticable sutter lag. The screen is nice and large. Easy to see in sunlight.
Cons: The battery life is so so. Aprox 250 shots before it died. Lots of on/off cycles for the long lens might contribute the the short life. Also might be the constant image stabilization and auto focus.
Other Thoughts: The flash is a little odd. It pops up all the time, which does not bother me. Rather it's the weak flash that it emits. Think of it as more of a fill light than a flash to use at night or indoors. Not too grainy if you can hand hold and have a still subject. Make sure you have a spare battery (and don't leave it in the hotel like I did). I havn't figured out all the features, but the menus are easy enough to pick up and start shooting. Still need to read the manual and figure out the manual controls. Very nice if you know how to use manual and priority modes. Happy shooting.
