Customer Reviews of the Canon USA PowerShot SX120 IS
Pros: Sweet 10x zoom! It is easy to use, has more than enough features for an average person like me, it has full manual mode which is very useful when Auto modes aren't getting the shots you want. My two favorite features: uses AA batteries - you'll never be stuck with a dead camera where there are no power outlets for Li-Ions, The flash turns on and off just by flipping it up or down, so you get the flash only when you want it!
Cons: I'll admit, it is somewhat bulky and could be easy to drop for some people - Canon included a lanyard for this reason. The memory card slot is behind the battery door, perhaps Canon made it this way to prevent corruption of image files by accidentally popping it out? That's why they put a USB port on the side of the camera. Features might be a little lacking for the more professional type people, but those people would prefer a full DSLR anyway.
Other Thoughts: Image Stabilization causes more problems than it fixes when the camera is mounted on a tripod. Enable full manual mode and disable IS in the menu and your shots will be super sharp! I learned this through both my Dad and trial and error.

Rating: 4/5Good camera, but we miss our A610
Pros: Let me preface this with we have a SX110, but the only difference between the SX110 and the SX120 is 1 MP.
Don't get me wrong, this is a great camera. The pictures have good color and vibrance. The image stabilization works and allows us to take pictures with the flash off if were careful to keep a steady hand. The flash is extremely bright and that can definitely be a plus if your far away from what your photographing.
It also has the manual settings and modes that allow just enough flexibility to take close ups of things like flowers and such.
And the video settings has good quality with complementary audio quality to top it off; things that you don't necessarily buy a still camera for, but are wonderful for catching those special moments that a picture just can't quite capture.
Cons: This camera is not designed properly to take rechargeable 1.2v batteries. It runs ok, but the lower voltage gives us a low power warning almost immediately after we start using a fully charged set of batteries. Also, our A610 took 4 batteries so we got used to fast recycle times because of the much higher voltage and current draw from double the batteries; the SX110's recycle times are slooow comparatively. Our kids are much faster than our flash now and we have to be a little more selective about when we pull the shutter or we might miss some moments we want to really catch where as before we could just keep snapping away.
Another thing we miss is the pull out swivel screen. This was the best feature that we tried so hard to get again, but the only thing that had it was way to big. My wife and I have to guess if we have us and our kids in the picture now when we hold our arm out to catch those candid moments. This took some getting used to as well.
Other Thoughts: Now the cons may not be cons to the average user, but since this camera was replacing our A610, they became cons. The only reason an egg got taken away is because of the battery acting like it is dead no matter what with rechargeable batteries. This is a design flaw as most people us rechargeable batteries.
At first, we were very unhappy with our purchase because of the cons mentioned, but as we have readjusted our "shooting style", we have come to peace with our purchase.
The important things are their. The pictures look great when viewing them normally and they print great. The features we looked for are their and working. It has so far lasted for over 12,000 pictures which many cameras cannot stand up to such a beating.
It has also lasted through our kids picking it up and doing whatever to it a few times, plus a couple drops on the ground. We are skepital as to whether it will stand up to the over 40,000 pictures we took with our A610, but in so far it has served us

Rating: 4/5Good Buy
Pros: Very Nice Zoom. Big Screen. LOTS of Features.
Cons: Not an SLR....
Other Thoughts: The only reason that I took an egg was the fact that after using for about 1 week almost half of the pictures could not be accessed through the camera, said that they were an unsupported format even though they were taken with the camera. I could transfer them and veiw them on a pc though.

Rating: 5/5Perfect Compromise!
Pros: 10x Zoom, Size, Flip up flash, Quality of pictures, Only needs 2 AA batteries.
Cons: No zoom during video recording.
Other Thoughts: I have owned a Cano Powershot S3 and loved it but found it too bulky too carry all the time. I then tried a Canon A1100, the size was great but the lack of long zoom and the quality of pictures was less than I wanted. Then I found this! It was the perfect compromise: good quality photos, long zoom and could fit in my coat or shirt pocket. The flip up flash is also a great plus. A very quick and convenient way to turn the flash off. I also love the fact that it only needs 2 AA batteries to operate, though I would recommend good rechargeable batteries.

Rating: 4/5Love this camera
Pros: I've had this camera about a year, and have found it to be exceptional with all the features and design. The one I have is a 9 megapixel sx110 but seems identical in all other respects to this camera. The only thing better than this would be a TTL digital and you won't come near it for the price of this one. I have used this camera on numerous trips and special occasions with great results. With a 4 gig SDHC card I've never lacked for digital storage. I like the size as I find it easier to hold onto than smaller cameras,
Cons: It's hard to think of a con with this camera.
Other Thoughts: How can people comment on products they haven't had long enough to use and fully understand. A day or so doesn't make them knowledgeable in my opinion.

Rating: 5/5Do your research
Pros: I have not yet bought this camera, but I am seriously considering it.
To those people who are writing bad reviews due to the camera using AA batteries; do your research. Just because you didn't do your homework doesn't mean there is something bad about the camera.
Cons: If you didn't want a camera that used AA batteries, then you should have bought one that didn't.
To the person who took off "eggs" due to a shipping screw up, remember that you are rating the camera, not the shipping company.

Rating: 5/5Excellent Camera
Pros: This is a great point and shoot camera. It also has many different settings which lets me be more artistic in shoots. I have had a number of point and shoot cameras, but this one is by far the best for the money (which at NewEgg was a really good price). Long battery life. Other people have complained about poor battery life, but they must be using inferior rechargable batteries or alkaline batteries.
Cons: It comes with a PDF owners manual, but a printed one would have been nice.
Other Thoughts: Overall, this is a really good camera and I would highly recommend it to non-professional photographers or pros on vacation that want to pack light.

Pros: This camera is great. Great settings, Great picture quality. Very user-friendly. The design is compact, yet has lot of features of a bigger camera.
Cons: The only negative I have about this camera is that it seems to take a long time to get ready between shots. There is like a 3 second delay.
Other Thoughts: I have had this camera for about 8 months now and I adore it. I get compliments on it all the time. Its perfect for the person who wants a very nice digital camera, but doesn't want to transport a huge camera bag everywhere. Great for people with kids who take the camera everywhere ;)

Rating: 4/5So far so good
Pros: The image stabilization is excellent. The 10x zoom (in combination with the IS) is great. Outdoor shots are terrific. Closeups look good. Lots of presets for various environments / settings.
Cons: Indoor shots are so-so. Long time between shots. I spent extra coin on a high speed SD card, but it didn't really help.
Other Thoughts: I have owned about four Canon P&S cameras over the past 6 years. This is the highest end model I've owned. My last camera was a Powershot A75, so this was quite a step up for me.
I take mostly family pics, so the zoom + IS were priorities in choosing this camera.
