Rating: 5/5Outstanding Camera - A Must Have!
Pros: This camera is amazing. Much has been written about low light applications and I agree for the most part. The video is not HD, but for a walk around the video is good enough for anything other than professional uses.
I love the rotating LCD preview screen. I just returned from a trip to Italy where I visited the Vatican Museum. The ceilings (and those of the cathedrals) are covered with masterpieces. Composition was easy - just rotate the LCD about 150 degrees at arms length and aim the camera vertical. If nothing else, this should be a must on your list of features!! Most of the time I set the camera to "Auto" with flash off. The results are absolutely stunning!
Other niceties: Hot shoe, stabalization, face recognition, custom setups.
Cons: Yes, it needs a wrist strap! The neck strap is very wonky and finds ways to get in the way of the lens or the LCD viewer.
I haven't found one yet, although I have talked with others I met on my trip who complained of short battery life shooting movies. I shot two or three short clips of 2 minutes and about 175 picutures each day (1/3 with flash); the battery always indicated fully charged.
Other Thoughts: On my two week European trip I was approached at least once a day inquiring about the G11. Made me feel almost famous lol. I was admiring one man's large Nikon DSLR rig when he smiled and pulled the G11 out of his pocket. He said that was his main shooter, but used the Nikon for longer distance shots.
Also of interest: I have shot Canons since the old AE1 and A1 days (late 1970s). The G11 top side controls are almost identical to the A1 configuration. That makes a strong statement, I think, and felt very comfortable with the G11 within a few minutes out of the box.

Rating: 5/5GREAT CAMERA
Pros: This camera works for beginers or advanced photographers. You can take great pics right out of the box, or if you are more adventurous you can play with the manual settings. On the picture review you can opt to see the F-stop, ISO, exposure time, ect. The articulated screen is one of this cameras greatest features.
Cons: wished it had time lap exposure
Other Thoughts: You will find other cameras that have a little better this or that, but lacking in other areas. this has just about everything you want, and is very easy to use

Rating: 5/5I Love This Digital Camera
Pros: Takes beautiful pictures (inside or outside) with a lot of options for custom tweaking or you can just leave it in Auto and not think about it.
Cons: For the regular home point-and-shoot picture taker "none". If your a professional picture taker, stick with your expensive DSLR you probability already have.
Other Thoughts: I've used this G11 at three weddings and my newly wedded friends love the pictures this camera makes. The video isn't HD but the video has rich color and sharp. Not having the HD video keeps the file size down which is a good thing when sharing video. I have a Canon Rebel XTi and I find myself using the G11 more.

Rating: 5/5Canon G11 to replace my G6
Pros: Ergonomics, resolution, lens quality, menu layout, larger LCD screen, general quality and feel of camera
Cons: no remote control included as the older G models had (G6, for example)
Other Thoughts: I've owned several of the G series Powershots. This one will replace a G6. While not a DSLR, it is a huge value and bang for the buck. I love the feel, the built in lencap and other 'little things' that make it an all around great camera. The lens is outstanding and it is just enough smaller than the older models to encourage me to actually take it with me! Canon has done a fine job on this, and Newegg got it to me overnight without a hitch!

Rating: 5/5Great little camera
Pros: It is a great little camera that shows amazingly low noise levels at ISO 3200. I like the raw file format it has and the flash shoe that takes on Canon pro flashes. Solidly made, this camera has good reaction time and has great exposure accurace.
Cons: The only thing I can say bad about this camera is the 77% viewfinder if you use the optical viewfinder. Somewhat lame, but for this price point it is acceptable. Most of the time I use the bright big beautiful LCD. I tried the candllight mode which can goose up the ISO to 12500 or something on that order. Images in this mode are rather noisy and it is a last hope type mode. ISO 3200 is truly a miracle. It compares well with my Eos 1d MK II for high speed noise. I would rather just have all the ISO speeds available in this case. Really a minor issue. However Canon should have stuck on the F2.0 lens like my late beloved Canon G3.

Rating: 4/5Great little camera
Pros: Compact camera with a rugged frame. Hot shoe for higher power flash photography. ISO and EV compensation dials. Optical viewfinder. Increased low-light sensitivity over the G10 (one of the best for compacts). Plenty of mega-pixels for all your photography needs. Built-in ND filter for motion blur photography. RAW capability. Good software included. Great lens range. Full VGA video. Highly rated by Ken Rockwell.
Cons: Small sensor (but that is what you get on compacts). Slow burst FPS (again par for the course on compacts). A little big for the pocket (if you want a pocket camera get the S90 with the same great image processor)
Other Thoughts: Canon made the right choice in lowering camera resolution for the sake of increased light sensitivity. No one really needs more than 4-6MP in a compact camera. 10MP is overkill. I would take a further reduction for less noise at ISO 1600.
