4 out of 5 eggsMakes for nice beginner's present

Pros: I bought this as a gift for my mom, who has no clue how a digital camera even operates, yet she's taken some great photos with it. The ease of use allows for beginners to fully immerse themselves into the world of photography. There's not a lot of flashy buttons or settings, but that's what makes it a real nice beginner's camera. Zooming on this camera is more than substantial at 24x and doesn't blur. The LCD screen is nice and comes equipped with a fairly easy to use menu. The flash comes in real handy for darker lighting. It's not very heavy, so even those with unsteady hands can operate this camera almost like a mid level pro. At 14 MP, this camera provides some real nice, clear and concise pictures.

Cons: As this is what I would consider to be a bottom level camera, it's got some imperfections. One of these being that it doesn't always have the color balancing right, some reds appear darker than it should, or some yellows are brighter. Some of the whites and blacks in the pixels occasionally appear grainy, depending on how much light is exposed. Not quite sure why this happens, but it does. The flash on this camera isn't anything to really get excited about, but it works and provides just enough lighting in dim settings. The menu functionality is fairly easy to operate, and because of that, it's also limited in options, when compared to something like a Canon Rebel. I was disappointed in the options this thing offers, but that's to be expected of a bottom level camera. Another thing about this camera is that it takes four batteries. I would expect that at this day and age, even bottom level cameras would come with a rechargeable battery and carrying case (even if it were cheaply made)

Other Thoughts: Obviously this isn't a top level camera, however it does just what it's intended to do. For a beginner, this camera would work just fine and won't break the bank. There's enough on this camera to work with, but at the same time, it lacks some quality in options for shooting. The accessories that came with this camera aren't anything to get excited about, and the software accompanying it can be installed at your choice (I don't recommend it). What would've been nice to accompany this camera is a rechargeable battery and perhaps a carrying case as noted above. I spent $169.99 on this camera, and for that price, it's not a bad buy. I gave this camera 4 eggs because of price, decent quality for a starter camera, and overall performance. It's certainly not the best camera if you're above the average photographer, but again for someone who just wants a camera to take pictures, it's quite decent.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy

Pros: First off this Camera replaced my Kodak 530 and not only is it the first non-Kodak Camera I've owned, it's a big step up style and features. I got the Bundle it came W/ Case & 4 Gig SD card I was so amazed at the ease of use I set mine in SR Auto and it doze all the thinking for me if figures out if it's Day or Night a still image or a moving object, but if I choose to I can use any one of the Manual settings or change the F stop chose the type of flash or no flash and at night in low or no light it takes great pic's this mite seam silly but it takes geat pictures of the star's or moon look I'm not a pro by any streach. But the complents the others stated well I think they should of bought a SLR, for the Person who wants great pic's from a Med leavel Camera with some Very nice High leavel features this is the right Camera hands down!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cons: Well if I have to "Bit#%" about anything it would be the Fuji Case that it Came with, it's a nice compact size but I can't fit much in it so first accessorie I'll buy will be a bigger Case other then that it didn't came with a full owners Manual and ink is not cheap and the PDF manual on the cd is 144 pages but like I said at the begining these two things are really no big deal hardly worth talking about

Other Thoughts: Hope u enjoy it as much as I am

5 out of 5 eggsGreat bridge-camera value for the $$

Pros: First off, let me say, I'm a Nikon fan... owning Nikon's since the '70's... I bought my first Fuji (J40) on sale last year and was quite surprised by the speed, function, and color clarity that I bought this one for my daughter. This S3200 performs as well as a bridge-camera should be expected. Lens quality is outstanding, zoom is smooth, speed is better than expected, and "program features" function better than expected. While its no DSLR from Nikon, the CCD is made by Sony (same as Nikon's), and the shutter lag is quite acceptable for everyday use (not fast enough for high-action or sports).

Cons: None yet with camera; however freebie case and memory card from NewEgg was a disappointment ... case is way too small for camera and memory card is Micro-SD, class-4, with SD adapter (which is not fast enough to reap full benefits of the camera's speed). It was free, so no knock on the camera... just buy a better SDHC card (recommend Class-10 SanDisk SDHC in 8GB or 16GB size).

Other Thoughts: Some people complain that the speed is too slow... sure, if you want DSLR speed, buy a DSLR, but you can use a Class-10 SDHC card and get much better results, as the true drag on this camera is the memory-card's write-speed.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Long zoom, manual settings, takes regular batteries

Cons: Auto focus takes some time, so you may miss that spontaneous shot

Other Thoughts: For the money you cant beat this camera. Picture quality is pretty nice on the low ISOs. The long zoom can create some neat pictures with the background blurred and the macro feature is just as nice. It has a nice range of manul controls. One thing I do wish for is an option for manual focus, but I know ill never get that without upgrading to a SLR. Not the greatest in low light, so a tripod is needed with the long shutter speeds. Had I paid more than $160 Id rate it 4.5 stars...but for the price its a 5.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat deal - but useless accessories

Pros: Got this camera in a package deal for $50.00 off, plus a free $20.00 accessory bundle including a "camera" case and 4gb storage card. Camera performs remarkably well for the price paid. Smooth transaction and received the order VERY quickly.

Cons: Newegg's accessory bundle, DOLICA 4GBWB10130 2-in-1 4GB SD Memory Card & Medium Case, was extremely disappointing. The case was WAY too small for the camera. Somebody wasn't thinking. Barely big enough to hold a spare set of batteries, extra storage cards, and maybe a pack of smokes. If this is the medium size, the small size camera case must be laughable. If I had paid anything for the accessories, I would have been VERY angry.

Other Thoughts: I give Newegg credit where credit is due. I called customer service to advise them of the problem with the accessory bundle, and asked them to consider a larger case that would fit this size camera. The agent apologized and said he would forward the problem to management. He then offered me a gift card for my trouble. THAT'S good business.

1 out of 5 eggsBlack Friday Sale for an OUT STOCK ITEM?

Pros: none

Cons: This item was supposed to go on sale on the day before Thanksgiving, but, guess what?, the item was never in stock in the first place. Was not in stock the day before the sale, and was never in stock during the sale.

How does a company advertise for something that was never in stock? And not try to make up for the mistake in some sort of replacement for a similar item.
