5 out of 5 eggsOrder a Lens Cap Too

Pros: Excellent camera, great value. Very happy with my purchase as a first camera for my 16 year old daughter.

Cons: There was no lens cap and this is one of my few purchases that I didn't thoroughly read the reviews (didn't even look). My daughter knew this was the one she wanted :)

4 out of 5 eggsGreat camera - Disapointing packaging

Pros: Great Camera. Lost of great features, larger chip, better low light functionality. wider zoom range, more rapid shot options.

Cons: WORST packaging. This is a refurbished camera. As such NO lens cap, batteries, printed manual, or cheap memory chip. As I was told by one Fujifilm rep, this camera comes to me as is, they have no intention of fulfilling the stock items. They think that only the camera is required to make a functional camera.

I guess they do not know that just placing a camera in a camera bag requires a lens cap cover to keep the lens from getting scratched. A camera strap is required by many if not most to keep a camera from falling out of the hand.

Batteries are needed to make the camera function. Now yes, "AA" batteries are available most every where, but what if you come you late, open your new camera box and having no batteries at home (store is 30 mins away) and want to check out the new camera?

What if this is a new camera to the user? They have no ability to read the manual off of the CD nor have any internet access? Good way to get a new customer mad at the camera and want to return it!

Other Thoughts: The first rep I talked to a Fujifilm, said the camera is as is and, "If I didn't like it I could return it or buy the accessories." Come on not including the essential lens cap which cost the company maybe fifty cents? Not to include the instructions? I guess they are not proud of the new fangled features and don't want users to know how they work.

It was a good thing my calling back got a manager who understood the issues I was bringing up.

The lack of the essential accessories is the ONLY reason my rating knocked an egg off from it getting the full 5 egg rating.
