4 out of 5 eggsNice for the price; image quality not 1st-rate

Pros: Much smaller than my SLR-sized 8MP; SD media works with all of my computers, PDAs and cell phone; 10x optical zoom; menu navigation very easy to use; entire camera very easy to use; good battery life.

Cons: Noticeable grain and blue/purple artifacts, particularly at high ISO-equivalences; bit bulkier than I'd expected; zoom control is a bit laggy; basic retail box doesn't come with SD media unless NewEgg is running a combo special (go Egg go!)

Other Thoughts: I have an A200 for when I want to take better pictures. I got this for carrying around to use in normal point-and-shoot circumstances. While a bit larger than I'd wanted, it's still reasonably small; the real ultra-compacts don't come with a 10x optical zoom. Heck, my SLR-sized model is only 7x

5 out of 5 eggsExceeds expectations

Pros: The options are simple to figure out, the pictures are excellent quality, the battery life is great, and it is faster than any other camera I've seen. I am amazed at what this camera can do for the price I paid.

Cons: None, I love this camera

Other Thoughts: I've had a few other digital cameras & all left me frustrated and disappointed. This one however, keeps surprising more everytime I use it with what a great camera it is.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Little Camera, Huge Zoom

Pros: Excellent super-zoom lens in a compact body, fast focusing, image stabilization works very well, easy to use, good price for what you get. A great outdoor camera and useful for wildlife in relatively bright light.

Cons: Not a lot of manual control, weak flash, high ISOs are just about useless, no built-in lens cover, battery life is mediocre.

Other Thoughts: I picked this camera up primarily for its combination of small size and big zoom. I wanted something compact that I can use for backpacking and yet still zoom in on elusive birds and other critters. I own a Nikon D70 as well, but am not always thrilled about lugging it around the bush for days at a time.

This little Panny fits the bill nicely. Outdoor photo quality is great, and the long reach of the zoom is really astounding for such a small camera. The image stabilization works well. It won't ensure perfect results every time, but certainly increases your odds of a sharp picture. Not the best choice for landscapes since it has a relatively high focal length at the wide end, but it's OK.
Indoor/low light shots are a mixed bag. It's useless above ISO 200 and the flash is pretty weak, so plan on some muddy and noisy shots. I'd steer you away if you take most of your shots indoors and/or under low light. Otherwise, a good camera and priced right.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Camera

Pros: This is a great camera. The zoom is very impessive. When used in video mode the zoom works wonderful and captures quality video for a digital camera.

Easy to use
Good camera settings
Amazing pictures quality
Great price (as always w/ newegg)
Shipped quickly

Cons: -It is big

Other Thoughts: Know what you want to buy, this camera has specific features to meet specific needs.
This camera is not for your 16 year old daughter.

2 out of 5 eggsGood specs Bad pics

Pros: The camera has a good feel and is built well. Impressive array of features. Good pics when the lighting is perfect.

Cons: Zoom is worthless indoors. Poor photos in low light.

Other Thoughts: Spend your money on a camera that takes better pictures. I bought the camera to take pictures at my kids' sporting events. I'm going back to my 1999 Kodak 2.0 MP. It takes better pics.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Camera

Pros: * The 10X Optical zoom works as I had hoped. Pitcures turned out beautifully.
* The video function turned out to be quiet a surprise. I took as many videos as I did still shots for Christmas. (...and you can zoom in video capture mode)
*The LCD panel is large and brite.
*The few cons pale in contrast to the overall quality of the camera
*The battery is light and lasts a long time.

Cons: *Buttons on the back are easily pressed by mistake.
*Doesn't work too well outside the lower "film speeds"

Other Thoughts: This is a solid camera. It has the weighty feel of a good quality camera and pictures to match. It turned out to be an excellent choice for a sub $300 camera

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent for the price

Pros: What attracted me to this camera is the excellent zoom capabilities. I am taking some really good close-up shots of birds and wildlife with it as well as everyday photos. It is excellent quality.

Cons: My main gripe is I don't like the manual lens cap. It would be nice to have an automatic lens cover on it. Also, I'm not that fond of the Quicktime movie format - but file converters are available.... excellent movie quality however.

Other Thoughts: Judging by some of the negative reviews, I wouldn't recommend this camera for those who just want a 'point and shoot' camera. It is a little more complicated than that, but easy to operate if you take time to read the manual and practice for a week or so. The focus and other features are easy to use once you learn how.

5 out of 5 eggsThe Smallest 10x Optical Zoom camera!

Pros: Where to start....10x optical zoom, Mega OIS, you CAN zoom in and out while recording a movie; not many digital cameras can do this at any price! Automatically displays shots taken with camera in vertical position into the viewer horizontally for viewing on the camera or displayed on a TV so you won't need to turn your head sideways anymore. Takes great pictures, movies are pretty good if there is not a lot a fast movement of the subject or you see compression artifacts on playback. The best Hi-zoom digital camera out there for the price. I got it with the free 1GB SD card and free case so it was an even better deal!

Cons: There is no filter threading on the lens so you can't keep a skylight filter on it to protect the lens from damage. The lens cap is manual and on a tether cord so it dangles when not on the lens, this may distract children or animals you try to photograph. The control panel on the rear seemed sparse but once you get used to the functions they work just fine. That's about the only downsides I can find.
