This modular small business surveillance system protects your employees and stock with ease! Each camera has its own IP address to easily connect to an Ethernet network and instantly provide surveillance of important locations such as office entrances, warehouse floors, exterior walkways, and parking lots, 24 hours a day using a standard web browser. Each camera supports UPnP for simple setup and Dynamic DNS (DDNS) to create an easy-to-remember URL name for easy access using a web browser.
Create a complete surveillance system by pairing the camera's included IPView Pro software with a high performance CPU: monitor up to 16 cameras at the same time. The cameras support high quality motion JPEG (MJPEG) recording at up to 30 frames per second, which can be sent to a PC or FTP server for storage.
Pros: With basic knowledge of networking and IP - you can have this camera doing whatever you want it to do in no-time at all! Picture clarity is slightly better than that of it's wireless counterpart (IP400W). @ $xxx - you can't beat this.
Cons: People who don't know a ping from a packet who give poor reviews and ratings to a great product.

Great Camera

Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: This camera has excellent quality for the money. The software included is also not all that bad. We purchased one to see how well it works in the shop at our company. I was quite impressed and we will be ordering more, we might consider getting the TV-IP422 because of the night vision.
Cons: No night vision.
Other Thoughts: The other people that were complaining about not getting it to work from a remote location are just not technical at all. If you have a good understanding of networking and routers it takes about 5 minutes to configure from start to finish.

Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: more than 1 year
Pros: Does what it is designed to do. I have had 8 Trendnet cameras running for over a year (different models) and they all work well. If you are using it locally, it is just plug and play. Access over the Internet requires some technical knowledge. I have one Core 2 Duo XP Pro desktop recording all 8 cameras with no problems.
Cons: Trendnet has 2 software packages, SecurView and IPView. Cameras work with one or the other, not both. If you have Trendnet cameras using Securview, you cannot add this camera to your existing setup. You have to create a new setup for IPView (can be on same computer). Also the software runs as an application, not as a service. To record, you need to be logged on with the screen saver disabled and power set to always on.
Other Thoughts: 1. Download latest software from manufacturer's website. 2. Flash the firmware to the latest update. 3. Don't try to record over the internet. Record to a local computer and VPN to the local computer for viewing history and real time video. This does require technical knowledge. 4. Make sure you have working battery backups for the recording computer and the camera. 5. Set the frame rate low to save bandwidth. The video will be jerky, but it will still show you who is doing what. This camera is for surveilance, not shooting video for YouTube.

Difficult to view from the internet

Tech Level: average - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: None, called for a return of the item
Cons: Even after 3 weeks, setup is not complete. Called Tech support they make you run around in circles. Advertising for the product is not clear.Exemplifies easy setup, but requires considerable reconfiguration on the router and the modem. Even then it is not working outside LAN.
2. Picture quality is very mediocre and focus is not too perfect.
3.Pan & Tilt mechanism gets stuck erratically.
Other Thoughts: Some sort of written instructions should be provided as to how to set up the camera such that it could be viewed from remote location
