The JVC Everio GZ-HD300B lets you just keep on shooting, with nothing to load, eject, or finalize. This is a hybrid camcorder, so record your video and stills directly onto the 60GB hard drive, or to microSD/SDHC Memory Card. The hard drive stores up to 25hrs of video in Ultra-DVD movie mode. With the GZ-HD300B's 20X Optical Zoom and 200X Digital Zoom, you'll be able to shoot the action up close, without having to go out on a limb!
The bright 2.7" LCD gives you clear playback of your capture in any conditions. You'll be able to edit footage right on the camcorder; just click on a thumbnail image. Easy-to-navigate menus system makes it easy to find, playback, and share your video and still images.

Good Enough
- Pros: The video quality is great in a well-lit environment. The built-in light is a nice feature as well. I personally like the ease of turning it on and off, simply opening and closing the screen. This camcorder is in opinion very compact and easy to use.
- Cons: First of all, the specifications misled me a bit. It stated that this camcorder would record 25 hours in the best quality, however, the truth is that it will record about 25 hours in the lowest quality, and 5 hours in the highest quality. But it does have a mid-high and mid-low quality option. The mid-high quality is what I use, and it lets me record for 7 hours. The user interface is a bit slow in my opinion, and the "laser touch operation" is a bit touchy. Lastly, this camcorder does not record well in dim or dark environments. The image becomes blurry and out of focus in dark areas.
- Other Thoughts: The battery that comes with the camcorder lasts for 80 minutes, so buying a spare battery is a wise choice. Maybe a wide conversion lens as well. (just in my opinion).
