3 out of 5 eggsGreat pics!!! *BUT* . . .

Pros: Pretty color, lovely pictures, battery life is very fair. My daughter loves it even more than I do, with all the cool sounds it makes when you turn it on and take pictures! Quality good enough for an adult, fun & easy enough to use for kids . . .

Cons: . . . but on the other hand, I purchased this computer to record video, and as I've seen on other reviews (reviews read *after* my purchase), this camera makes an obnoxious chirping sound when it records video. Sadly, the video I wanted to record was of me at karaoke. I haven't actually tried yet -- I think I may be able to sing over the darn chirping -- but because it was purchased for video, this easily knocks 2 stars off. Yes, I know if I want video I ought to purchase a video recorder, but I don't need 1920x1080 video: Just to record some basic sound with a 640x480 image, and I feel it's a reasonable expectation that the device itself wouldn't make sounds loud enough to catch on video.

Other Thoughts: I'd read reviews on other Kodak EasyShare cameras, and decided that I wanted one. Turns out at the last minute, the model I'd had my eye on was sold out, so I chose this one instead. Wished I'd taken just 10 minutes to read the reviews.

Let that be a lesson to you! And in sooth, every time I've read glowing reviews, I've been happy with my product, which is one reason why I happily shop newegg for most of my computer electronic needs.
