5 out of 5 eggsGreat HD Camera

Pros: Video quality is much better compared with the pocket sized HD camcorders. I chose this rather than the Flip HD and also the Kodac zi8 because the quality is better and they don't have optical zoom. They only have digital zoom which looks lousy if you're trying to zoom in on anything.

Digital Zoom= Zoom Pause, Zoom Pause, Zoom Pause, etc...
Optical Zoom=Clear Continuous Zoom In And Zoom Out.

Cons: Wish it had 60x optical zoom rather than the 5x, but then again the next step up is over $500.00 for a Sony HD Camcorder.

Also, I would have liked a shutter switch for the lens instead of a lens cap, I also would have liked an external battery just incase it fails, if the internal battery fails, you would have to record with it plugged in to an outlet or have a sony dealer replace the battery.

Other Thoughts: I've seen a lot of video comparisons on youtube before I bought, and there are many quality tests. Some side by side comparisons with the Creative Vado as well. Just check em out. Also be sure you get at least a 4GB stick to go along with this. I have a 8GB stick and I can shoot over four hours of video on 720p. If you don't get a MS Pro Duo for it, you won't be able to record anything really.

I've seen rumours on-line that you could use this as a web-cam for your computer but I haven't tried..

4 out of 5 eggspretty good camera

Pros: - good daylight shooting
- mic is decent
- 5x optical zoom (can turn on digital as well, up to 20x)
- snap shots turn out good\
- very compact
- cheap

Cons: - still uses memory stick duos (of course!)
- only 25 minute continuous recording time (even with a memory card that has 4 hours left...)
- no image stabilization
- low light recording is horrible

Other Thoughts: For what you pay, you get good video if the light is right.
Get a tripod, even a cheep one will help out.
Only 12MB of internal memory...
Video is recorded in MP4 format.

4GB MS duo = 1 hour 1080i 30FPS, 2 hours 720P 30 FPS, 4 hours VGA 30 FPS
