5 out of 5 eggsExceeded My Expectations

Pros: The user interface is simply amazing and easy to use. It is like an Ipod Touch on a camera. You can quickly switch modes, ISO, resolution, video, etc. All it takes to go from picture to video is the press of a button.

The Isweep Panorama mode is awesome, it is so easy to use and always comes out flawless. Dark pictures are great, but my favorite thing about this camera is how great the macro mode is. You can take pictures of a stamp, coin, label and they are crystal clear. It uses both Memory Stick and SD cards, which is a welcome change.

Cons: Battery life when recording video runs out somewhat fast. Needs the dock to connect to your PC. I took around 200 pictures and shot 10 minutes of 1080 video before the battery ran low, so even though it's a bit of a complaint it is still not bad.

Other Thoughts: I put a 32GB card in and it lets you know how many more pictures you can take, minutes you can record. I never have to worry about running out of space now. I simply can't say enough good things about this camera. It is about as good as a point and shoot camera can be. This has the functionality of a camera and a camcorder in a super compact package.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Point and Shoot ive seen to date

Pros: Great image quality even during low light. 1080i 60fps recording, great screen resolution, you can take panoramic shots and it stitches it for you.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: The blue actually looks like black with a slight hint of blue which is a good thing. I originally wanted black but the only 3 colors that the TX7 came with are silver, red (which looks more like salmon), and blue. I recommended this to a friend as well and he went and purchased it and loves it also

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding

Pros: Elegant design and intuitive ease of use. Image quality at any setting is purely outstanding. Now can you say HD VIDEO @ 1080i 60fps! The video is the main draw here and at this price range you can not beat it. The touch screen is remarkable and has just the right amount of sensitivity. Extrodinary manual shoot options and surprisingly accurate auto creates some truly amazing shots. At this price you would never find a camera that packs so much punch and quality.

Cons: Battery life but that's to be expected.

Other Thoughts: Taking this baby through the paces at Disney World in a month and that should be a real test of the cameras versatility. 1080i @ 60fps WOW!
Don't be fooled by the complex nature it is genuinely easy to use in any mode.

5 out of 5 eggsDont buy the power supply

Pros: I was wrong on my last posting about buying a power supply for the cradle. Don't buy the AC-LS5.

Cons: I miss the old way of recharging the battery by simply putting it a powered cradle.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy the AC Power supply ( AC-LS5 ). It does not charge the battery when used with the Cradle. It does nothing useful.

5 out of 5 eggsWhat else you may need to buy.

Pros: The Cradle does not come with a AC Power supply ( AC-LS5 ). Auction site=10bucks. If you buy one you can charge the battery in the cradle and never have to take the battery out of that dinky little compartment that looks like it will break easily.
I also love the thin soft camera case from sony ( LCS-TWE ) 12bucks I would call it more like a skin with no storage. With this case I can carry it in my jeans pocket and if I drop it, it will be well protected.
8GB SD Cards are cheap $17.00

Cons: Not as simple as my old T1.

Other Thoughts: This is not a camera for the non techy like my mom. I would say get mom a simple Canon with a viewfinder for under $200
