2 out of 5 eggsCould be better..

Pros: Very good HD quality, Menu is well laidout.

Cons: Here is the bad part, For a $500.00 camcorder I would like to see a mic input and better low light preformance. They could of also thrown in a wireless remote and a flash or LED light. I had this camcorder for 2 weeks and I was not pleased with the low light quality or the fact that you cant use an external mic. I purchased mine through another site due to Newegg being out of stock.

Other Thoughts: I ended up returning this and purchasing a Canon Vixia HF M301 for $399.99 which has a external mic input, 20 times better preformance in low light, it has better shooting modes with a hot shoe and wireless remote.
I would also like to say this, the only diffrence between this and the CX130 is that the CX160 has built in memory for storage other than that there is no diffrence. If you want a decent Sony camcorder go with the Sony HDR-XR160 that is far superior than the CX160.

5 out of 5 eggsWow....

Pros: light, seems durable (too early to say for certain), stunningly good quality on video, audio, and image stabilization. I couldn't be happier with the unit. We purchased it to film a school project for one of our kids. part of it was filming building a PC. The camera took wonderful low-light images of the internals of the PC - a major concern of mine with this project. I picked this camera because I heard it worked well in low light situations. We were not disappointed. I am not in any way a professional (or even competent) with a camcorder, but this made it easy to do a nice job.

Cons: none yet
