Pros: I did weeks of research before purchasing this camera. I wanted something that takes quality stills, that is small enough for mountain biking, hiking, etc...
This little camera is phenomenal. Honestly, you'd think the pictures this machine takes were from a big camera - because of it's DSLR sized sensor! It takes great low light shots because of the big sensor and mirror-system.
Its a tad heavy, which I LIKE, because it doesn't and shouldn't feel cheap. Solid construction, immaculate LCD screen, great starter lens, great battery life, great in-camera processing - for stuff like amazing panorama landscape shots.
I can't wait for summer.
Note: make sure you buy a body cap and a rear lens cover, as they do not come with this kit. Also, note that if you want 1080 p film at 24 fps, then get the nex-5, cus this one only shoots 720 at 30fps. Also, if you want a view finder, buy the nex-5. If that stuff's not important to you, then get this nex-c3, cus it's unreal...
Cons: I really don't have any right now. I'll revise in the future if problems arise.

Pros: Small, not too heavy, build quality is fantastic, photo AND video quality is excellent, very nice screen. Oh, and the shutter makes it sound like a big boy camera. ;)
Cons: Lowest ISO is 200 (though not a noticeable issue), accessories are ridiculously priced (e*Bay for the win!!), has a proprietary accessory port, doesn't support the Sony Remote Commander (grrr), no 1080p video, but see below.
Other Thoughts: Kinda bummed that it doesn't shoot 1080p even though that's a memory hog, I'm sure it could, but I would rather see high speed video capability at lower res (at least 120 fps). No hot shoe is also a bum deal, but at least they have good accessories, even the tiny flash that's included isn't terrible. If you plan to shoot lots of video, definitely get the external mics, the built in ones aren't gonna win any awards. Controls have a learning curve, but they're actually good.
