With resolution this high, each shot captures a massive amount of detail for greatly reduced noise and vibrant images that explode with clarity and richness.

It's perfect for snapping a unique sequence of photos or capturing the defining moment in high-speed sports photography.

World's First OLED Viewfinder

There's never been anything like the Tru-Finder™ OLED electronic viewfinder. Boasting 2359K dots for ultra-high resolution, images pop with richness, clarity and detail. A high contrast ratio lends superb depth, while motion blur is reduced to a minimum. You can even see the results of camera adjustments in real time through the viewfinder.

Amazing HD Movies

The choice is yours. Shoot super smooth 60p, standard 60i or cinematic 24p movies—all at Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution. Capture high-quality AVCHD™ video that looks great on your HDTV, or shoot MP4 videos to upload to the web. Plus, maintain creative control of your movies with access to shutter priority, aperture priority, manual mode and more.

Always In Focus

Experience a revolutionary breakthrough when shooting fast-moving subjects. By harnessing the power of Sony's Translucent Mirror Technology, the a65 offers the precision of Phase Detection auto focus (AF) in all modes—including HD Movie and Live View—to deliver amazingly crisp HD videos and tack-sharp still photos.

Incredible Speed and Precision

Some DSLRs can shoot. Others can focus with the speed and precision of Phase Detection AF. The a65 does both at once. Infused with the latest version of Sony's award-winning Translucent Mirror Technology, light is directed to the image sensor and Phase Detection AF sensor simultaneously for ultra-fast shooting up to 10 fps with continuous auto focus.

5 out of 5 eggsSony putting up a fight in the dslr arena!

Pros: - OLED Viewfinder with live view changes
- Tilt and swivel screen
- Built in Image Stabilization!!!!
- 24.3 megapixels
- 1080p recording 60FPS
- Built in GPS
- Great Software on the camera. Very straightforward. Plenty of shortcut buttons.
- Built in focus motor. Option for continuous focusing. Great focusing ability.

This is my first 'DSLR' camera (yes I know it is technically a DSL(T)'). I absolutely love it! The bells and whistles you get for the money is unreal! I've tinkered around with the camera for a while and I like the Image stabilization a lot. I don't have to worry about getting a lens with it on there. I got it mainly for photography but the videos that I have captured before I got my tripod were pretty smooth when panning. I also like the digital viewfinder with the live view changes. Being a complete amateur, this really helped me understand what each function does and how they effect the imgae. (ISO, shutter speed, aperature, etc.) Definitely a great buy for beginners.

Cons: Not really a big deal for me but may be for some:

- Not touch screen (I knew this going into purchasing it)

- Digital Viewfinder instead of Optical Viewfinder (some prefer Optical Viewfinders)

- Doesn't have the satisfying 'click' sound due to the fact that the mirror doesn't technically move when you hit the shutter button. Again it bothers some people enough. Not so much me.

- It's a translucent mirror.

The only real problems I'm having:

- The direction the screen tilts and swivels is only annoying if you are using a tripod/monopod/and kind of stand due to it tilting downwards and turning. Other companies tilt to the side so you can tilt it and keep in out while on a stand.

- Sony is not as big in the 'DSLR' game as Canon or Nikon. Be aware that for the most part, electronic retail companies will not carry accessories on the spot for Sony. So accessories like lenses, wired/wireless shutter, lens filters, batteries, etc will have to be bought online...unless you are lucky enough to have a store dedicated to camera gear. (I don't)

Other Thoughts: Sony sure has put a lot on the table to get noticed in the 'DSLR' race. For all the things that camera has to offer, the price range is very appealing. It's a beginner price range DSLR with not so beginner features. Definitely keeping this one for a long time. Been enjoying every shot I've taken with it. Would highly recommend for any beginner photographers and/or even videographers.
