4 out of 5 eggsGreat camera, bad deal

Pros: 16 MP with a Carl Zeiss lens is great. Large screen, light weight and, easy to use controls.

Cons: NO SD card furnished. And OLD battery. The first Camera was returned because it could not keep a charge. (required trip to UPS) Also, B.B. is selling the same (new not referb) for $10 less and could have saved two weeks.

Other Thoughts: Save time and buy a new Sony DSC-W650 at B.B. for $10 less and no waiting.

5 out of 5 eggsPasses the basics

Pros: First of all the size of this is about the same as a credit card and maybe double the thickness of your typical smartphone without a case/protector.

Powers on in seconds, is taking excellent photos. This is a 'quickshot' type of camera though, it's not a professional level device. So long as you purchase with that in mind I believe you'll be happy with it. If you want a instant on camera this isn't the one you want. I would say it's between 2.3 and 3 seconds to hit the button and take a shot. You then get a shot about every 3 seconds or so.

I took a few macro shots and they were crisp and clear much to my surprise I actually didn't expect the quality I got.

The controls are simple and easy to figure out. (I haven't had to look at the manual for anything) A name brand 8 gig mk2 mem stick ran me about 30 bucks at office depot (because I forgot to order it from newegg)

The video is acceptable in 'fine' setting it's passable 720p. I don't know why the lower settings even exist really. You'll want the mk2 mem stick for that as well.

The panorama and other built in features all work as I expected them too. Color balance can also be tweaked, which is generally required for perfect indoor color. Unless you have natural light already.

Cons: I think I got carried away and covered most of this in pros.

It is small. Smaller than I expected. Pro it fits in pretty much any pocket without trouble.
Con - It could prove hard to keep up with.

I don't like the design of the battery charger that much. I would have preferred something with a cord. It charges reasonably quickly aside from that.

Other Thoughts: My expertise is in computers. I only purchase cameras for events, family gatherings/holidays, and travel. This is my reason for putting tech at average.

I paid 80 dollars for mine here on newegg (110 if you count the good mem stick)
At that price it's money well spent. The condition it arrived in was perfect as well.

Had they not labeled it a refurb it's unlikely I would have ever known. I even got the joy of peeling the protective film off the screen.
