1 out of 5 eggsNot worth anyone's money

Pros: Pros:

* menus are intuitive
* quickmenu button is very useful
* viewfinder/screen is bright
* all-metal construction feels good; nice heft

Cons: * The little metal door for accessing the battery compartment and memory card is EXTREMELY flimsy. It's very easy to put the battery and/or card in wrong, and wind up bending this door to close the compartment.

* The USB port on the side of the camera (to connect it to your computer) does not take the standard mini-USB cable. Panasonic does include a compatible USB cable for you to use. However, it is an even **smaller** size than the standard mini-USB (perhaps it's a Japan market size). As a result, none of my existing mini-USB cables that I use with all my other cameras and electronics will work.

Other Thoughts: More issues:

* This Panasonic camera often cannot take a decent indoor picture without relying on flash. Being able to take an indoor picture using ambient light is an important feature, because most people overuse flash and then they wonder why their photos look washed out or amateurish. I've been using Canon cameras for about five years now, in venues such as museums in Europe, indoor art screenings, restaurant photos, nd around the house. What you see on the viewfinder is what you get - and I rarely need flash.

* Panasonic tries to remedy this problem with low-light photos by a feature called "Intelligent ISO". This allows you to set a maximum ISO on the camera for your pictures (example ISO Max 800) and then the camera automatically selects the correct ISO. In my experience, what this means is that the camera always selected the maximum ISO that I allowed it. So to get pictures that are sufficiently exposed, you have put up with very high ISO grainy photos.

4 out of 5 eggsGood value, excellent point and shoot

Pros: Easy to use, wide angle is great, crisp and clear. Many extra intellegent settings. I've had several point and shoots, this one is worth every penny.

Cons: Buy a case too.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Camera

Pros: Very nice zoom lens, fast response time from turning it on to take the picture, less than 2s for most of the time. Image quality is excellent. Good for low light condition as well.

Cons: I bit bigger than I wanted. But not a discouraging factor at all. Consider the 12x optical zoom lens!

Other Thoughts: very nice auto iA features. I have my wife us this feature all the time.
